Interesting, I would love a service that periodically checks my wishlist in Steam to see which of them is available on GOG, but could not find anything, do you perhaps now something like that?

Geeez, that’s no good. It’s beyond me how you wouldn’t just go: “O shit, sorry, we didn’t realise these people were so problematic, we’ll try to do better research next time, thanks for making us aware of this” (plus the “here’s who we sponsored” that they actually did). Problem solved (except for a few fasch snowflakes maybe boycotting them). They must have weighed these options (I hope) and decided to go with the fascists instead of being descent human beings? Thats bonkers to me but I guess I’m not running a business in the US … (which apparently means you need to be a spineless bootlicker nowadays - and then leopards eat your face anyway 👌).

Ah, you mean Rails World, right? Did they (the conference) actually go ahead with having DHH as a speaker? I thought big sponsors cancelled after that was announced?
It is unfortunate that Framework lists Rails World and doesn’t specify if this about the past conference or if they plan to sponsor the next one.

I thought they were “only” fans and didn’t give him money, what did I miss? (I kinda hoped they would come to their senses but this sounds like they didn’t?)

I’m always an episode late for these but I just wanted to say that this is perfect if you want a cosy slice of live anime about making art (manga in this case). (The yuri I somehow thought this had is basically non-existant, unfortunately, though.)

Do you have any data on that? This rando article says otherwise:
bbc.co.uk/…/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-54268…
And the examples given seem to mostly involve dogs which makes me kinda lean towards “It’s the human’s fault (cause they did not know how to control their dog(s))”

I think one of the big things few people mention is hahstags, I do follow a lot of things that interest me via hashtags and found a lot of cool people that way.

Haha, o no. Mmmmh, I would go around server lists (heard good things about fedi.garden ) and then look at the public timeline of a server and also at the server rules. I did this for finding a new Pixelfed instance a few months ago (didn’t find anything I liked) and it was interesting to see if people had just pasted the standard rules (kind of a red flag for me, personally), wrote some bs like “be nice to each other” or had taken care of thinking about this.

What are you struggling with? Look for a server (that isn’t mastodon.social) that fits your interests, sign up, browse the local or global timeline, follow interesing people, have fun!

Unfortunately, not so cheap that I could just go for it for fun, so it’ll have to wait until I actually need a new phone …
