- Comment on OpenAI drops plans to release an adult chatbot 1 week ago:
Yeah, very likely. I suppose the product focus will be government/military. They will get the AI find people to disappear or pick bombing targets. That’s apparently a profitable endeavor.

Nah bruh they have their own private Social Network that is invite only. It’s like a $100m+ club.

I switched to linear because trello got so bad. Jira has become bloated and impractical.

- Comment on After outages, Amazon to make senior engineers sign off on AI-assisted changes 3 weeks ago:
Yeah that’s what I mean by extra work. I can make the change myself or I can argue with claude code until it does what I want.
- Comment on After outages, Amazon to make senior engineers sign off on AI-assisted changes 3 weeks ago:
Product managers are constantly pushing for new features. Those break and break things around them.
- Comment on After outages, Amazon to make senior engineers sign off on AI-assisted changes 3 weeks ago:
Or I suppose add extra work by walking an AI tool through making small incremental changes.

- Comment on Asus and Dell announce new mini PCs for Windows 365 | Goodbye local OS 4 weeks ago:
Fair. But what of they completely eliminate the ability to buy hardware like only selling to the AI fucks? Do grandparents not get phone plans for example?
- Comment on Asus and Dell announce new mini PCs for Windows 365 | Goodbye local OS 5 weeks ago:
I would be surprised if this WASN’T a conspiracy among all the billionaires in their secret clubs.
- Comment on Asus and Dell announce new mini PCs for Windows 365 | Goodbye local OS 5 weeks ago:
It’s never taken off because of relatively inexpensive and abundant hardware. But these will be attractive to people who need something now and want something inexpensive.
Grandparents are the immediate target but eventually if they force the hardware supply shortages soon some people will need something.
Imagine students with low budget.
The next 5 years are going to be really interesting.

Without all the guardrails it would do that now with all the training data it has.
- Comment on Nvidia and OpenAI abandon unfinished $100-billion deal in favour of $30-billion investment 1 month ago:
They are going to put everyone’s retirement into the money pile. Pull their money out and then shrug when it collapses. How could we have predicted this?
- Comment on [deleted] 1 month ago:
Absolutely. Go wild. Like they say: Nothing changes if nothing changes.
If we want things to change we kinda need to do it. Voting is important. But it isn’t enough.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 month ago:
So may as well do nothing then. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sounds like you want to pour gas on the fire and hope to rebuild from the ashes.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 month ago:
Yeah so may as well do nothing. Go run for office or go work with the campaign you want to win.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 month ago:
Don’t just vote for them, go canvass, knock on doors so they become viable. Shrugging your shoulders and knowingly selecting the option that will do LESS THAN nothing, when the alternative is fascism, it’s pouring gas on the fire!
Go run for office and start changing the system.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 month ago:
Go volunteer for the candidates you want. Go canvas knock on doors. Or run for a local office. Your “yet” is doing absolutely nothing useful.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 month ago:
This is exactly the issue.
And they have such a narrow view of EVERY issue. If you can’t solve EVERYTHING all at once, in EXACTLY the way they want, you may as well be Trump and want to personally murder every Palestinian in Gaza.
“You don’t understand that guy/lady isn’t going to solve EVERYTHING so let’s not try to repair ANYTHING!”

I didn’t say they haven’t done fucked up shit forever. I’m saying jumping on the fact that they are doing messed up shit right now doesn’t make the “other side” right. No matter how bad the US is, it has no impact on the opinion of their enemies.
