This seems really neat. I’ve always wanted something like this, society wide. A repairable tool is far more valuable to me.
Excellent rescission and partnership. See corporation, this is what a leader looks like.

Just a friendly reminder that Philips continued manufacturing CPAPs with a sound dampening foam after learning that the foam caused lung cancer. They covered this up for years and killed/ruined the lives of a number of their customers.
Even after the coverup was discovered, the Dutch government determined that they were dragging their feet on their recall affecting millions of customers. The government also accused Philips of a pattern of not taking recalls seriously.
Sorry for referencing this garbage website, but they’re one of the most comprehensive sources of how ghoulishly Philips treated the discovery that they were harming and killing vulnerable customers.

Kudos where it’s due, but Philips is not a great poster boy(or gal) for a good corp. Outside of the medical field they basically license their name to other companies and make very little themselves.
Not to motion they knew their cpaps were fitted with deadly foam for years and just killed people instead of doing a recall.
That’s great, hopefully they don’t discontinue the line just like Microsoft did with their adaptive mouse.
This is great that they are releasing 3d printables parts AND they released the parts under a Creative Commons license !
This is amazing to see a brand contributing their work to Creative Commons
Can’t wait for the version that includes a Dyson vacuum adapter.
Can’t applaud this enough!
If this program expands to additional parts and products, Phillips might get a customer for life in me.
unironically based.
i wish capitalism didn’t stop companies from doing this ubiquitously.
it would be the revolution 3d printer people touted back then.
I wonder what else they will be able to implement. They showed a trimmer guard and something for a toothbrush maybe?
Yo that is a super legit marketing concept. I’m in.
I hope wahl does this!
Okay, guess I know what brand my next trimmer is gonna be.

This is wild. I just had to dig out one of my older corded shavers because I lost the right size of guard for the one I use normally. I was thinking of trying to 3d print a new guard but was dreading how many steps it would take to shape it and fit it just right. Now you’re telling me I can just print a proper one officially? This is lovely. This is how technology is supposed to work for us, not against us.
