I’ve got to imagine Epic is pretty pissed at Unity right now. Both had a pretty sweet gig “competing” against each other.
But since Unity’s brain-dead maneuver, we suddenly have a foss alternative to both, and they might actually have to innovate now.
No mention of Epic in Godot’s transparency report.

You know that’s not pure profit, right? Besides their hardware, development and operational costs, which are substantial, they split that fee with creators.

Sheep here.
We watch YouTube on several devices, Apple TV being the primary.
We watch it enough that we don’t want to be bothered with ads.
Despite its flaws, it’s an amazing service and a technical feat.
We happily pay the fee.

Yeah, more often than not Ublock or others ad blocks are the culprit for me.
And it’s not immediately obvious that such is the case when it happens.
Good luck

Thanks for the explanation. I’m desperate to find a cheaper alternative but not to sacrifice my sanity with a solution my wife doesn’t understand. We literally only watch one or two news channels for an hour or so a night. There has to be a better way!

Can you elaborate on what options exist? I’m technically inclined and have yet to find a better cheaper alternative to YouTube TV which my not so inclined wife can use to watch news channel on our Apple TV.

That’s framed as if google is this generous corporation that’s all “Peace, love and Agnostic apps” rather than to farm data from a competitor’s users.
Google wants all the users data regardless of the platform they’re on.
