- Comment on Why do people still eat beef when we know it's terrible for Earth? 1 week ago:
requires ~10 times the amount of crops per calorie compared to just eating the crops directly
Kind of, kind of not. If fed corn, yes. If pasture raised, no. Humans can’t eat grass. Cows convert grass into food.
- Comment on Helldivers 2 now delisted in 177 countries 1 week ago:
I misunderstood. I meant that the whole initiative was from Sony. Kroxx was talking about the delisting in specific. I don’t have any info on that.
- Comment on Helldivers 2 now delisted in 177 countries 1 week ago:
To be fair there is a lot of speculation that this is actually entirely from steam’s side not sony or arrowhead.
Oh, that the delisting is Steam side? I thought you meant in general. My bad. I’ll edit that.
- Comment on Helldivers 2 now delisted in 177 countries 1 week ago:
The cm’s have literally said it’s Sony. Why would there be speculation that it’s steam?
- Comment on If everyone had access to healthcare the net benefit of treating the mental illness and other disabilities holding them back would easily cover the cost of the healthcare itself. 2 weeks ago:
Same thing with crime and basic needs. It costs less to give people housing, food, etc, than to staff the police and infrastructure for jails. Once you realize that, you realize it’s not about the cost. It’s about the cruelty.
- Comment on How do you build complex shapes? 2 weeks ago:
You can treat Fusion360 like Tinkercad, if you want. You have to create the shapes from scratch, but you combine them just the same. Thanks to the parametric timeline, you can make the tiny adjustments and then the software will rebuild it. The complex shapes are harder but, in general, the more complex functions are just faster ways to accomplish the same goal.

- Comment on What anime do you like but are afraid/ashamed to admit it? 2 weeks ago:
Yeah, I generally stick to what the average American finds OK. Transformers is good. Pacific Rim is older but OK. I don’t go into Macross too deep unless I know they’re cool with it.
- Comment on What anime do you like but are afraid/ashamed to admit it? 2 weeks ago:
All of them. I never talk about it in public, except giant robots. It’s the only socially acceptable version. I thank Transformers for this.

- Comment on Remember when the body washes contained literal micro plastics and were advertised as such? 2 weeks ago:
Silicones are also polymers. Polymer means many-chains. Any repeated chemical unit is a polymer. Another example is PLA (poly lactic acid) is a non-petroleum based polymer. It’s literally lactic acid.
Are you trying to say that silicone isn’t a petroleum based product?

Assuming you’re not trolling, yes. The backfire effect is a proven psychologically studied phenomenon. Arguing at people with facts and logic and aggression tends to reinforce their original beliefs. effectiviology.com/backfire-effect-facts-dont-cha…
Ironically, telling you this will likely not convince you due to said effect.

Amazing write up. I love it.
That clog reminds me of the ender 3 v1 problem. It had the same gap between the nozzle and tube. I liked captured tube fix. In summary, cut a piece of PTFE tube and seat it in the hot end, place a printed washer over it, then the coupling on top of that, which compresses the tube and the hot end.

What about the printer environment? Has anything changed? Have you moved it? Has the ambient temperature changed even slowly? (I can’t print pla in an enclosure during the summer, but I can in winter.) did you add or remove air circulation? Change the ac temp? Anything else external?
