I got the feeling that claim (what’s the claim?) and proof could fit into a few sentences. Why 40 minutes of video? That title is way too clickbaity for my liking. And I don’t fear to miss out on essential dishwasher pod info. ;) No thanks.

Furthermore, the amount of soap needed for a wash can vary, but pods provide only one amount. Powder or liquid soaps can be portioned appropriately.

I feel like you watched the video differently than I did because his whole point was about the prewash and the wash. The fact that the main washes where the pod gets dumped in, not during the pre wash for the for 15 minutes, which is his trying to be using powdered soap.
Or at least that was the first half of the video. The second half was about heat and wash cycles.

See? That wasn’t so hard.

It’s like watching a great serial sitcom several years in. None of the jokes are funny because you’re missing out on why it’s funny. Same here, go back to some early stuff and maybe it’ll change your mind. But this one is pretty meta for a series he’s been on that I for one love.

It’s a follow up to series, in that context I think the title is fine.
Why 40 minutes of video?
These tend to go through rabbit holes in detail.
And I don’t fear to miss out on essential dishwasher pod info.
Spending a minute reading a tl;dr might just get you cleaner dishes while saving money.
Who wants to know how the world around them works anyway?

To elaborate:
A TC video usually serves two purposes. The first is to provide information that is interesting and sometimes even useful.
But the other is to detail the learning process and to glance down a few rabbit holes along the way.
And the Dishwasher Saga has the bonus of being both an incredibly snarky man proving the internet wrong AND being some of his most profitable videos.
One of his best videos that more or less explains this is when he did a “live” demo of… just using google to identify and repair a radio. It is deeply fun and rapidly turns into a discussion of why it is good to curate your own entertainment rather than relying totally on algorithms.

The hubris to think you don’t need to know about how your dishwasher works… I too was once blind, this man showed me the light. Praise be.
