There are many many companies doing this. But the smart brands will use their name as a sort of stamp of 'this is actually a decent product" because the market is absolutely chock full of e-waste.

yeah it’s true, but anker has been having a lot of recalls lately. And when the product costs 1/5 the price on aliexpress/baba then it might be worth it for some things.

This is super common in the 3D printer industry - Creality, Anycubic, and most “brands” are just slapping thier logos on the same OEM parts with minor tweeks.
