- Comment on GitHub will be folded into Microsoft proper as CEO steps down 1 week ago:
Maybe. But there are projects still on that I could not replace. Jellyfin for example, I haven’t checked if they even consider moving. I moved away from Immich to the simpler setup of PiGallery2, also no clue of they have any plans on the horizon.

The one thing I do not like about Lemmy: the insane amount of boomer humour here.

For example a shitload of toilet paper. That way you are also costing the company extra for doing this.

- Comment on Game prices should have increased with every new generation, former PlayStation US boss says 1 week ago:
Must be nice living somewhere where cinema prices did not climb. I can assure you its been different where I live.
You got to look at it relatively, a movie never cost even close to $60, so why would it end up there. It cost something like less than $10 but now the average is around $16. Games were maybe $60 and now could be $80, so it is actually a very comparable increase.

There was a recent drama around it which had to do with generative AI they wanted to use in the app.

Well, speak for yourself. I don’t have a running phone contract because I don’t really use my phone much for calling or stick to open WiFi when I need to be online. Just got top-up mobile data for the times when there is no WiFi.
I definitely do want WiFi when travelling.

What’s that supposed to mean? All of Lemmy servers are open to the public. Anyone can read all the messages even without any accounts? The decentralised parts mainly prohibit shutting down the whole network easily, taking out one server wouldn’t do much to the rest.
