When I worked with an influencer who made free workout vids, his entire revenue was 80% of income. It was an extreme minority from free videos to buying something in his store.
Then some algorithm change in 2018 broke his entire income, he couldn’t afford me, and last I checked, he was sponsored by diet pills or whatever fake garbage.
It’s a damn shame because his dream was always to provide free workout vids.

I dislike political messaging in media even when I agree with the message, because I’m going to said media to escape reality.
What movies do you like that aren’t political? I’m curious.

Lemmy instances with those same challenges would probably just fold and close up.
Can confirm. I set up a pixelfed instance for my city with the goal of moving people from Insta to this version. After about three months, user accounts went from 1-10 signups a week to a hundred a week.
No way did that many business owners sign up. And yep, all spam.
After a while, my random weekend project in Spring became a full time job. I closed it last month.

What is JioPC? JioPC represents a paradigm shift in personal computing, offering India’s first AI-ready cloud computer solution. Rather than relying on traditional hardware, JioPC transforms any TV or display into a powerful computing workstation through cloud-based processing power.
This is a article or a marketing piece?
What self-respecting tech reviewer writes the phrase “paradigm shift” to explain a random laptop? Or maybe it’s AI garbage.

I honestly don’t understand what op is talking about.
Leaks happen all the time, even in billion dollar companies.

My friend came over and told me a story about this crazy date she was on. The guy love bombs her, sets her up with a massage, then in the morning, goes out and eats McDonalds alone and ghosts her. Then repeats every few weeks with love bombs.
I shared that with my discord group and someone said they know that guy too.
Im assuming that’s what Tea is for.

- Comment on Dear Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, please prove that an AI didn’t write your insulting, vacuous blog about why you're laying off thousands during a time of huge profits 5 weeks ago:
The past few layoffs at Rock Paper Shotgun made me concerned that they were being neutered by their corporate overlords.
But the past few months, this and the stinging review about eriksholm gives me hope.

So much trauma for a decade.

Bro it was such a shit show when I was growing up.
Just military bros spending their entire military paycheck on a mustang and picking up high school girls.
Still remember my friend crying/begging for help because military bro didn’t get sex and wanted to beat her up. And this dirtbag was going to get shipped with a rifle to some brown country.

Your pixel 5 didn’t just mysteriously die? There was a wave of them dying. Mine was part of the crossfire.
I loved the pixel 5 too, for like 3 years then mysteriously croaked.
Currently on the pixel 6 which is pretty good.

It’s reached a point where the government is pushing for websites to card you before you can enter.
Women apps were giving data so the government can arrest women for abortion-like behavior.
We’re already at the point where privacy/anonymity is the only way to visit the internet.
