It also depends on where and other context. If it is an old frail man or a woman being punched by a dude twice their size it absolutely can be. I also said it depended on the state and I said maybe. I’m not spreading false information.
- Comment on 2 weeks ago:
It really depends on the state. Quite a few people have been killed by being sucker punched. So if you punch someone out of the blue they can say they feared for their life.
And breaking legs, the amount of force depends on the person. My daughter broke her own legs twice just by slipping on a stair a little. What if they’re carrying a retractable baton and when you punch them they hit you in the knee with it? Not unreasonable in a lot of the US.
- Comment on 2 weeks ago:
I can’t speak to the laws in other nations but in the US it depends a lot on where they’re recording. If you’re just out on the street, it’s not only not a crime to record in public, it’s a protected right. So if you punch them they’d be solidly in their rights to mace you or break your legs, maybe even shoot you in many states. And then have you arrested and force you to pay for a new pair of glasses.
But if they were doing that shit on private property or somewhere worse like a restroom, give them the ol western bouncer treatment and send them flying out the door with a broken pair of glasses. I mean you could assault them out bin public too, but there could be some unpleasant consequences.

I wish I could do better than my parents but that is out of the question. I grew up poor, we were middle class when I was in high school, and then my boomer dad started making good money right as I was graduating and moved out. I make less less than half of what he was making 35 years ago, not even adjusting for inflation. I have no retirement savings but maybe I’ll get a small inheritance if I manage to outlive them both and medical bills don’t burn through their funds. I’m expecting to work for 60 years.

Whatever you are, everyone has preferences. I’d prefer to be younger and more attractive but I’d also prefer that in a partner even though I’m not that myself. I love the vibes of older people but not many older people have taken good care of their bodies. I get it, it is difficult.

Ok but they were selling shitty laptops with 4g of soldered RAM very recently. I also had to deal with a 64gb soldered SSD, that piece of shit wasn’t even that old, it was a Windows 11 PC . The torx still annoy me, but they’re a garbage company. Don’t even start on their printers.
- Comment on BMW’s Newest “Innovation” is a Logo-Shaped Middle Finger to Right to Repair 3 weeks ago:
It’s always torx. I don’t need them for anything else. And yeah I own a couple of torx bits but I have a really nice selection of Philips I keep right at hand. But like I said, that’s just one of many reasons.

I like to fix or upgrade people’s PCs here and there. I always tell people not to buy HP. There are 100 reasons, but one big one is they won’t just use regular fucking screws.

The only problem is when we define everyone who disagrees with us as a fascist. I won’t go hunting authoritarians but if they bring a fight, I’m ready to finish it. That includes authoritarian fascists and leftists, because I’m not on board with either.

The purple version was the best. Mine from 1999 has had the most use and still works the best. I’ve bought new aftermarket controllers but none stand up to the old translucent purple.

What is an assault rifle? I don’t think what non-military civilians or police carry qualify. I know a few grandfathered fully automatic rifles are out there but they cost like $40k and they’re mostly in the hands of collectors. Most guns are semi auto and semi auto rifles are great for hunting things like wild boar.

No, the angel was telling her what was going to happen. It was speaking in future tense, and she agreed while talking to the angel.
34 “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”
35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37 For no word from God will ever fail.”
38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.

It’s in Luke chapter 1. I mean a lot of people believe believe none of it happened, whatever. But consent was part of the account.

She did consent though. It’s in the account.
