If a bee sees a color we cannot, it would be pretty silly to insist it’s not a color on the basis of us being unable to see it, wouldn’t it?
- Comment on Show your pride 1 day ago:
I wonder if there are some metals that appear grey to us but actually have a color, we just don’t see it because it’s outside our visible spectrum
- Comment on Are there good Movies, TV Shows, Anime, with wholesome family (particularly parent-child) relations? 1 day ago:
Future is a separate show, set after the movie, not another season of the first show. It’s tonally very different.

Repeating a punchline does not make it funnier.

- Comment on Not to get all religiony but why in the old testament God was all fire and brimstone and fatal consequences? But the new testament God is all about forgiveness and such?? 4 weeks ago:
Because the people who wrote the old testament wanted to scare people into subservience
And those who wrote the new testament thought positive reinforcement was better

This is unironically good evidence that climate change is critically important (for the few slow ones that didn’t know already).

Does it really count if most of that “code” is broken and unused?
Churning out 9x as much code as humans isn’t really impressive if it just sits in a folder waiting to be checked for bugs

Yeah he ate my crunchwrap supreme right when it happened, was mad at first but we cool now, so couldn’t have been him
- Comment on Computer Science, a popular college major, has one of the highest unemployment rates 2 months ago:
I don’t necessarily regret getting a degree, but I would have perhaps focused on a more in-demand degree if I knew how the economy was going to change.
- Comment on Computer Science, a popular college major, has one of the highest unemployment rates 2 months ago:
Might not be the best use of that time and tuition money though

Copy Epic’s model of selling “Sbucks” or similar, which you then spend on those games. Problem solved.
- Comment on People angry that Superman represents kindness are outright admitting that they don't want to be good people 3 months ago:
There are two plausible explanations:
-
People think immigrant refers to a person who chose to move. Since Superman didn’t arrive on Earth by choice, he’s not an immigrant. This is, of course, incorrect.
-
People think the term immigrant only refers to people who look “different” compared to what is common in the region. This is, of course, racist.

Reminds me how Hank’s dad in King of the Hill remarried one of Hank’s kindergarten classmates.
Also why Roger Moore quit being Bond. “They kept hiring women to play opposite me young enough to be my granddaughter. Frankly, it was disgusting.”
That said, you’re both adults. As long as it doesn’t feel awkward or controlly to either of you, give it a shot.
- Comment on WTF is a rural town in the USA? 4 months ago:
I think of a rural town to be an area big enough to have a name but too small to have its own police department (so all law enforcement is done by a sheriff’s office and/or state police).

- Comment on Designed by men, for men: Why sex with robots does not have appeal among women 8 months ago:
There are plenty of women who don’t have intercourse regularly, but they are less likely than their male counterparts to whine about it.
