Netflix should never be allowed near another sporting event. Ever. From start to finish it was shit. I would also like to take this moment to point out that Rosie Perez is not the first lady of boxing.
- Comment on Reddit says it is not covered by new Online Safety Code as it has moved its jurisdiction to the Netherlands 3 weeks ago:

If anything, the Dutch will enforce more laws on them
- Comment on Reddit blocking all major search engines, except Google 3 months ago:
I didn’t know there was a name for it, I don’t have anymore info on it, but I can show examples of it happening.
- Comment on Reddit blocking all major search engines, except Google 3 months ago:
It definitely is in practice 100%

I don’t have any more info on it, but I can prove it
- Comment on Snowflake is such a weird insult as it seems to imply it's best to just be like everyone else 3 months ago:
Doesn’t the same apply to pretty much any insult?
And why we’re not supposed to use the word “normal” when referring to somebody or what they aren’t…
I don’t think snowflake is intended to be an insult though, is it? I always thought it was a stupid reference to an over sensitive generation.

They’re also blocking posts by users who aren’t banned or even got a warning. It appears to the user as though it’s been posted, but it hasn’t.
- Comment on VPN by Google One shuts down 4 months ago:
I’m surprised anyone uses Google services considering how they infiltrate your privacy.
A Google VPN is as private to me as giving a six year old a cardboard box and asking them but to look inside.
- Comment on YouTube is now fully blocking ad blockers around the world 1 year ago:
Definitely not blocking here… but… I have to ask. Which takes precedence, YouTube’s T&C’s or EU law?
- Comment on youtube getting more agressive 1 year ago:
What’s realistically the closest to YouTube today? Like Lemmy, small acorns need bigger communities 😁 Slow, but it’ll happen. It’s also not a bad thing to have people used to switching platforms every x amount of years. That aside, does a VPN work, or Newpipe?
I’m in EU, not getting any ads yet on Firefox or Newpipe.
- Comment on Should I putchase a 4-year-old nVidia TV Pro, another technology, or wait for next Gen? 1 year ago:
I’m not doubting that the shield TV would be a superior box. But just that I wouldn’t buy a used one, and for the money the Nokia box is a great box, well built until OP can decide to buy a new shield or at least wait until new shield is mentioned or released.
- Comment on Streaming giants have banded together for lobbying power 1 year ago:
This can only be a bad thing.
They will win and like live nation, will merge with more well placed companies until they are printing their own money.

Have a look at the Nokia TV Box. Great bit of kit. Sturdy and well built remote. I wouldn’t buy a used shield for sure. And the old Nvidia shield is pretty much the same spec as the latest one IIRC. There’s not much between them. The shield often drops in price on Amazon too (Europe).
I haven’t heard of anything newer coming out soon from Nvidia and for the price difference I would definitely go for the Nokia, allowing you to also save your cash if Nvidia do bring out a new version.
