- Comment on We Should Immediately Nationalize SpaceX and Starlink 4 hours ago:
These programs require continuous funding. The probe went to Jupiter. The scientist and listening stations back on earth still have to run to receive the data.
- Comment on We Should Immediately Nationalize SpaceX and Starlink 3 days ago:
It is usually due to “budget cuts” as the easiest way to kill a project is to defend it. Juno Jupiter flyby Maven mission to mars New horizons kbo flyby Terra mission-earth science satellite Aqua mission -earth science satellite DSCOVR SLS-which may actually be a bad program but is a good example of the political issues with NASA vs senate.
- Comment on We Should Immediately Nationalize SpaceX and Starlink 3 days ago:
NASA is too beholden to politics… You can’t do 7 year builds and missions when the Senate flips every 4 years and has to kill everything the other side did on principle that it has a D or R attached to it. Everything is political.

Wasn’t it last year schools were throwing kid’s bagged lunches away? So then they force the kids to eat a school lunch or starve, then blame the parents. This is just the next illogical step of the grift.

And knowing the cult of Apple, they’ll pay it because it makes them look wealthy. That is the whole culture of Apple Customer base.

If my employer wants to be ‘like a family,’ then they shouldn’t have an issue with a meltdown on company time.

- Comment on What programs do you wish a good FOSS alternative existed, but doesn't or most of the FOSS alternatives simply aren't good? 1 month ago:
Obd2 software so I can diagnose and repair my car. This is more than a dtc scanner, I need to be able to trend values and flash/program modules without a $15k tablet with $50k of yearly software.

Even still, the ‘flag’ could be enough damning evidence for some people to take action. We’re in the cultural ‘guilty until proven innocent’ territory, where a mere accusation ruins lives.
- Comment on Is it possible to design a (pen and paper) cipher that is secure against government cryptanalysis for at least 10 years? 3 months ago:
Book cypher. 2 copies of the exact same book. The cypher is an agreed upon system of indicating letters or words.

This is also my take: any person can set up an image generator and churn any content they want. Focus should be on actual people being trafficed and abused.

People don’t have to work. This is the assumption the entire house of cards is built on. Those at the top need you to work so they realistically don’t have to.
