- Comment on Yes, you can store data on a bird — enthusiast converts PNG to bird-shaped waveform, teaches young starling to recall file at up to 2MB/s 5 days ago:
Though this proprietary implementation of cloud storage for IPoAC is very innovative, it’s really only useful for enthusiasts of the protocol and it comes with some security concerns. Writing data to the storage is inconsistent and requires a lot of effort on the uploader’s part. And if you do manage to get the data to write properly, there’s no guarantee retrieving the data will be lossless.
The most worrying part for me, however, is that there’s no guarantee that the data can be removed from the cloud without obliterating the server it’s stored on or waiting for the device to degrade over time. Until these are addressed I don’t think we’ll see widespread adaptation.

So, I understand that the number line is a way to conceptualize relational distances between numbers, but in that example I’m struggling to see the relation between 57 where the line ends and 111, the answer. If you have insight, do you mind elaborating?

HahahahahaHHAHAHAAHSHAHAHAHDHDGF Country wide fiber in the US?? Think of the local monopolies gouging hundreds of dollars out of you for what amounts to dial up compared to fibre! Do you expect them to upgrade their infrastructure when they can do nothing and continue to make money??

I would argue it’s more like the difference between reading a book and watching a stage play of the same story. The difference is level of literacy. At a certain point, you learn the language well enough to be able to use your imagination to create the color of the story for you as more than just words (notes) on the page. Up until then you might know what the word is, what it means, and even how to speak it out loud, but it could be difficult to internalize how that word fits in with the work as a whole.
For those who haven’t honed that skill or haven’t had the opportunity, however, are best served with a performance of the work. There is no shame in this. Experiencing a performance can be just as beautiful, maybe even more than what your imagination creates frome what’s on the page with facets you hadn’t even considered in your own interpretation, but making that interpretation is a skill, just like literary analysis.

That’s not how cruise control works and I have never seen cruise control marketed in a such a way that would make anyone believe it was smart enough to stop a car crash.
- Comment on Women Dating Safety App 'Tea' Breached, Users' IDs Posted to 4chan 5 weeks ago:
Could you share said sources? It’s irrelevant though because justifying this doxxing SHOULD mean that the entirety of 4chan is a justifiable dox target. If you don’t believe that, then you should be against it happening against Tea users. They’re at the very least guilty of the same thing (in this case. 4chan is guilty of much more heinous things than just this).

Unfortunately for some, that pressure is real and entirely illogical. For the longest time my wife would start getting anxious and frustrated when someone tailgated her and would start to speed up… Only to contue getting tailgated by the same person. Took a lot of insistence from me to not play their stupid game for her to realize that not only was it stupid to speed up for them, but more dangerous and entirely illegal to start speeding just because of a tailgater.

What part of TERF ideology is actually feminist and not a thinly veiled mask for conservative-based gender essentialist ideology that feminism at its core has been fighting against since it’s inception, just this time aimed at trans women to protect “real women”?
I’m genuinely curious because all the advocacy I’ve seen from TERFS is all about demonizing transgender women, infantilizing transgender men and… Siding suspiciously often with conservatives more than their supposed ideological ancestors.
