Same here. I have never owned and NES. We went Atari 2600, Commodore 64, Sega Master System, Amiga, Sega Genesis, Saturn, PC, Dreamcast and Plastation 2. (I wasn’t a kid by the last few of course). And agreed, Phantasy Star is awesome.

The invasion aspect is with taking seriously. Also, Trump/Putin want the US to withdraw from NATO, but that’s an aside. My point is that the media, pundits, social media personalities are talking as if it’s a reasonable concept, military invasion aside. It’s about like some guy walks up to a married woman and says “hey we’re going to have sex tonight!” and she’s like “wtf? absolutely not, no, get the hell away from me” and then a bunch of people start discussing what kind of sex they’re going to have and if it will be good or not.

I think they meant being served half an avocado on a restaurant dish.
- Comment on A single tuna (once canned) will be eaten across the world at different times, potentially years apart 1 week ago:
Wasn’t there a post on here not long ago with someone thinking the same thing about getting half an avocado? Like “woah someone else is eating the same avocado as me”. This also applies to say, cows. Pretty rare to eat one single cow yourself.

If you get the more expensive brands or varieties it’s more likely to be solid pieces vs a slurry.

They’d still be up in Canada though so I don’t see how that aspect would affect me. They’d never let Canadians have full voting rights, of course, since that would mean Republicans would have to cheat way harder to win.

So basically, Elon Musk reveals that he is either lying or a complete idiot, and will say anything to bolster whatever his fucked up message and aims are.
- Comment on Liberal women 'least happy and loneliest', according to new survey 2 weeks ago:
What is the point of this supposed to be? Daily Mail, jfc. Awesome sources in this community. The quote professor’s explanation there is pretty pathetic, logic wise, and is manipulative. I wonder if the Daily Mail has an agenda? Ha. Anyway, maybe there’s a reasonable explanation for this: Intelligent people are often less happy than people who are too ignorant and dense to be aware.
- Comment on Bad UX is keeping the majority of people away from Lemmy 2 weeks ago:
Sure. You complained about that opinion, but it doesn’t mean I can’t hold that opinion. I don’t agree with your observations or conclusions. We don’t need more dimwit asshole conservatives here, if that’s what you mean by ‘wider audience’. That group already whines that Reddit is too leftist for them. I don’t really agree that Lemmy is more extreme in that regard, other than specific instances like .ml or grad. The politics I see here are not more extreme and I don’t find the user base ‘repellant’ at all, and I hold fairly typical US left views (would like more socialism, believe in human rights, universal healthcare, oppose racism, etc).
- Comment on Bad UX is keeping the majority of people away from Lemmy 2 weeks ago:
I don’t really get that either. New users are immediately presented with posts and communities they can interact with, and all of the functions are familiar to anyone who has used reddit or forums. The interface is straightforward and uncluttered, as far as what that contributes to the user experience. Also I have never found federation confusing.
I guess OP is talking about the attitude of personality of lemmy members and I don’t agree with that, either. The 2-3 people on reddit quoted in the post are clueless and there’s no indication they represent a significant and amount of people’s perceptions. “Endless wars about federation” - what? There was controversy for like 1 week several months ago.
- Comment on Bad UX is keeping the majority of people away from Lemmy 2 weeks ago:
I seriously have no idea what you’re talking about.
- Comment on Bad UX is keeping the majority of people away from Lemmy 2 weeks ago:
So Lemmy is filtering out people who can’t take 5 minutes to understand a simple concept and make a decision?
- Comment on Bad UX is keeping the majority of people away from Lemmy 2 weeks ago:
Um… okay, if the fairly mainstream for our demographic politics here repels certain people, good.
- Comment on Bad UX is keeping the majority of people away from Lemmy 2 weeks ago:
Maybe I’m more tech oriented than many, but I don’t find federation confusing at all. I’ve never understood why it’s described that way.
- Comment on Bad UX is keeping the majority of people away from Lemmy 2 weeks ago:
Those comments are fairly meaningless. Federation wars? Where? There was some controversy like a year ago from why I recall and everyone has moved way on. I wouldn’t even consider that UX either.

Hey, why not just imprison them in camps and totally lose track who their parents are? Trump’s fascist friends did that previously, of course.

- Comment on DOGE Is Good. It's Not Enough. 2 weeks ago:
Yep. It’s about cutting regulations that affect him, and taking revenge on agencies that have attempted to regulate his businesses. It’s about Elron’s ego and money. Truly a vile abuse of power.
- Comment on DOGE Is Good. It's Not Enough. 2 weeks ago:
“DOGE” is doing absolutely nothing of the sort. What an insane sham. It’s shocking and disgusting that people actually would be dishonest or stupid enough to write articles as if they believe that is the actual mission of “DOGE” and fucking Musk could actually accomplish it.

Just look at the argumentative, insulting and provocative discussion style. OP is absolutely a troll of some sort, alright it’s difficult to distinguish that from a typical deluded and fanatical conservative.

That’s how Facebook went for me the last time I tried to use it with a new account… I was immediately swamped with friend requests from people in eastern and central Africa. I accepted some out of curiosity so of course FB decided that’s what I was really into. I’m not sure if these people just send out random requests or why they want to add Americans… I didn’t get hit up for scams or anything, it was just people posting and sharing photos of their lives as normal FB users.

I think I said the opposite of that? Tempered glass does just suddenly blow up sometimes.
Anyway, I was a glassblower for 15 years and yes, mechanical stress builds up in glass over time as it gets bumped, tapped or knocked around. Small scratches and nicks can significantly weaken older glass too.
- Comment on had my first bottle explode. have you? 4 months ago:
Mechanical stress builds up in glass over time, so like that stupid homemade submarine, it could have been weakened and finally just blew.
