For fun with words:
- Niemcy - polish for Germans
- Niemcy - polish for Germany
- Niemy - polish for mute
- Jadę do Niemiec - "I am riding to Germany"
- Jadę z niemcami - "I am riding with germans"
- Jadę z niemcem - "I am riding with german"
- Jadę z Niemczech - "I am riding from Germany"
- Jadę z niemym - “I am riding with a mute” I wonder how confusing these are for people not speaking polish xD

- I wonder how many enemies Dell made with that lol
- AI chatbots work as customer side if implemented well (if chatbot does not have options, it won’t work well) and if customers don’t knee-jerk into repeating they want human without checking it’s options first (which, understandably, came from dealing with badly implemented chatbots). Their search is quite alright for polling public opinions (useful for example if you are lazy and wanna find overall popular film from some genre - it can summarise reddit, google, few review sites and spit the effects at you).
I know, I know. We are anti-AI here. But please, don’t be simply cynic. This tech has it’s uses, but is so badly used across everything that it’s hard not to be negative of it.

For once? Every time xAI doesn’t manage to wrangle this little, amazingly rebelious piece of software down it goes to town on US right lol. If anything, the fact all grew to it being subdued all the time is kinda sad. xD

Fallout: New Winterhold
After the Great War the province of Skyrim lies in great turmoil. From the south, an echo of old world creeps, trying to provide order at the cost of freedom. Meanwhile, in the great city of Windhelm an agent of freedom and chaos awoken and inspired many. With the world ravaged by unyelding cold and scorching magic, you stir awake on the simple wagon after getting mugged while being hired to deliver the silver potato to Sleeping Giant Inn…

Ehhhh, honestly I like a lot of boomer humor (not one to get easily offended) but this kind wasn’t funny even when boomer humor was at it’s peak.
Or in short, this is and was trash.

I fear only one thing. That I will be too bland/boring or what I deem in any way interesting won’t be. Or that it will be and I’d get overwhelmed with amount of comments and wouldn’t be able to reply to even third of them and would come off as a dick or a bot :< That and I am well aware I am not compatible with most of lemmy so yeah.

- Comment on Do you cheat in video games? 1 month ago:
If I cheat to fix a bug or bypass some weird glitch, not cheating
If I cheat for fun or to bypass part of gameloop/gameplay, that’s actually cheating and it’s fucking shameful, but as long as I play alone and don’t boast, who cares.
If you cheat and then try to boast, you’re a lying scum not worth of whatever you achieved in game. If you cheat in multiplayer, same. Any other case, whatevs. And I consider unlocking achievements via cheats boasting, that’s what they are for after all.

It’s attention seeking is literally the point for me. Heavy problems with self-discipline, so this helps me return to learning daily. And it’s good to go from zero to a level where you can start learning by consuming content in the language you’re learning.
But yeah, energy can suck dick and I can see how what helps me may be irritating for folks who can manage their own time easier than I so.
- Comment on Women and men and consensual sex 2 months ago:
I honestly cannot comprehend some countriea. Where I live, we don’t talk about raoe because it’s a goddamn tragedy. You can jest or shame virgins or sluts because in the end it has little meaning - but rape isn’t a joke, damn it.
And it isn’t generally swept under the rug here either. Even if woman won’t drag you to court out of shame or guilt or anything, most folk who know will lynch you if they know what you’ve done.

I even mentioned Mint and that it drops problems to lower level, so? My grandma barely grasped the concept of a browser and had problems understanding how to use google.
And sure as hell when she got some custom-software disc from hospital with embedded images from her x-ray or whatever it’s called, I wouldn’t want her to need to also deal with Linux possibly not being able to run it.

Heh, I’m literally in the same boat as you - testing distros and such. And I studied programming for some time so I have above average tech literacy and yet still I had to spend some time learning how to get old wi-fi on a laptop to work (thankfully well documented), and I still have to tinker with which distro will be best for my hardware as it’s not only kinda old, but also I have nvidia card and some wierd wifi so I am ready for things to be weird.
And I hope I didn’t come off as saying that Linux is some insurmountable wall for everyday folk in original comment but as you pointed out - everyday folk ain’t willing to deal with any problems in the first place.
XKCD comic about specialists expectations towards everyday folk come to mind xD

> Ask
And then ask again each and every single time something doesn’t work. Or you need to install something. Something is badly configured.
You need at least medium level tech literacy to deal with Linux. Maaaaybe entry level with Mint and the like, but still, if you get skittish due to console, at which 70% of worlds population at minimum does, Linux ain’t for you.
Windows is successful because it’s easy to understand and holds your hand as much as possible. People who are complaining are quite often folk who are simply forced to use it, most people don’t really see anything wrong, even those using tech more…

Yeah, but living out in the country is one of the rare times where having a car is actually fully practical, so out of scope for me, but I may have not been clear about it :|
- Comment on Arguing for the car as a good method of transportation is like arguing that having personal diesel generator to power you home is a good idea 2 months ago:
We have enough of them here that they are enough, and that’s in student city. But they are coupled with proper public transportation, bike/e-bike rentals and e-scooter rentals, so there’s plenty to go along. So you have plenty of better options for just moving, but when you want to grab a lot of grocieres at once or something, there are car rentals.
