Little known fact, Angelo was the real life inspiration for the "This is fine" dog.

I definitely read “is it a bad fire, my good man?” In the voice of the Succulent Chinese Meal guy

Ah, I see you know your combustion well.

Ending sentences with “my good man” is very nice my friend.

I like that the fireman was so polite and whisper, so to not disturb him during his relax time

Something similar happened to me as well. Though I didn’t sit in the bathtub but was playing on my PC and didn’t hear anyone knocking because of the headphones.

That must have been scary! Glad you’re ok!

tbh I was more like “Welp… need to wait outside then, I guess.”
It was just a small fire because some dickhead burned a backpack on the basement for whatever reason. Not much smoke or anything.

How did they know about the song in Angelo’s heart?

Back when everything in your home wasn’t so insanely flammable.

January 27, 1936 was a Monday

So this presumably happened on Jan. 25th.
dan@upvote.au 6 months ago
That’s likely the date the article was written, not the date it happened.
CommissarVulpin@lemmy.world 6 months ago
Oh, yeah, you’re right. I didn’t even see “Saturday night” in the article lol. Whenever I see old dates I like looking up what day of the week it was on, just for fun.

I beseech you to find articles in modern newspapers where people are described as whispering or speaking politely. Sounds wonderful.

“DID YOU OUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE?!” Dumbledore asked, calmly.
