When Al-Qaeda themselves claimed responsibility, even with overwhelming evidence aside? Why were so many people still reluctant, I was researching about this stuff and was shocked to see people who I respect a lot believe in this
I’ve argued with multiple people who swear the war in Iraq was over 9/11.

There are so many things going on at once all the time that you can’t just blame people for misremembering even the bigger events, especially when they occurred so together long ago and had some overlap in the media.
I argued with fucks about that during THE LEAD UP TO THE WAR
Conversely, I briefly dated a girl who said we were in Afghanistan for the oil.
The first Afghan oil production began in late 2012.
Because the collapse of the towers looked like a controlled demolition. It wasn’t, but it looked like it.

Sometimes there’s enough ambiguity around an event that any attempted exact reconstruction will likely be wrong in some details. Some people can’t accept that ambiguity, and take the lack of a single, overwhelmingly-likely version as evidence that the “real” version was suppressed.
Because the government was aware of two of the attackers prior to the event, it’s not a stretch that they allowed it to happen to use it as an excuse to invade the middle east.
Some wealthy persons clearly knew that 911 was going to happen because the stock market twitched hard just before.
I think one reason people believe that and I heard a lot of people talking about the day it happened is, the twin towers would not ordinarily have imploded the way they did just because of an airplane impact. A lot of fuel leaked from the burning planes, but many speculated there had to already be explosives planted along many of the building's inner seams for them to explode and collapse the way they did.
I don't know if we'll ever know for sure, but there COULD be some plausibility to inside homegrown terrorists having aided this atrocity.
Because both the liberal and conservative explanations are completely nonsensical which make people 180 so hard that they start believe that the entire thing was a hoax.
Easiers rather that to understand they were a war betwin two agency and besides an incompetent government (bush son) who were just focus on irak even before 9/11

Reading all the comments here, I think that it is wild that anything other than what the US says is a ‘conspiracy theory’, what I can gather from this is that no one probably has any concrete idea about who was responsible, so there might be different views, but apparently any other view other than what the US tells you is a ‘conspiracy theory’

That’s not at all what I’m reading. You’re probably confusing, like with most conspiracy theorists, shoving a hypotheses into the holes of our knowledge - with zero evidence to support it - with an actual theory.
