Night shift IS easy…
as long as your job doesn’t have stupid requirements like switching back and forth between the day and night shift every other week, month, or on whatever-the-fuck that plant schedule is with 7/1/7/7/1/1 or its variations. And as long as there isn’t some stupid requirement like having to brief a day dude on something around 1100 hours when you already worked that night, and have to work that night. AND as long as you aren’t understaffed, so you get mandatory overtime in the middle of your off days, oh totally preserves your off time so you’re not working back to back but it totally fucks up your sleep schedule right in the worst time. AND AS LONG AS your bosses aren’t complete fools who can’t understand basic written sentences so they call you as you start to go into that phase IV deep sleep just so you can explain the same thing to them in spoken language…
fuck night shift.

Tbf you should not answer the phone when you’re not working.

I worked night shifts for about 6 years. I didn’t eat the healthiest and was drinking pretty heavily. That plus a lack of vitamin D caused some weird health conditions… so yeah. Gotta take care of yourself if you do the night shift.

For me staying up is easy in general. Give me 10h night shifts, I don’t care. As long as you never make me get up early that is.

I remember this meme from back when I worked the night shift in 2016.

The fact that Skyrim is a game from 2012 blows my mind

Funny enough, I was working nights at HMV when Skyrim released.
They had a big midnight opening event that was kind of a pain in the arse to us night shift stockers. In the end there were about four people queued up at midnight to get their copies.

Am I the only one that enjoyed night shifts? Less traffic, no big bosses around to mess things up or get in the way, no scheduled meetings or other distractions… just do your job and go home. And you can still run around to appointments etc and get stuff done during the day when everything is open without taking time off work.
Mind you, I’ve always been a night owl, so that probably helps my perspective…

Well I am a bit thin, but everyone tells me I look younger than I am so I guess the flesh still on me is still fairly juicy at least.

I loved night shifts back in the day, especially when there were more 24 hour stores. On my days off I could go grocery shopping at 3am and not have to deal with anything. I was awake at the same time as my bartender friends so I wasn’t ducking out at midnight. He’ll, we could go out drinking until 2am on a Wednesday, Uber over to the 24 hour taco stand, spend a couple of hours eating $1.50 tacos, get groceries before the rest of the world was awake, then either sleep all day or get errands done.

Working Night shift is a known carcinogen. Your boss isn’t going to pay for your cancer.
Keep looking for a day job if you have to work nights.

Same. Worked on gas station, chose all nights I could cuz itbwas easier for me than days. Almost no clients, job is predefined, no management getting weird with tasks, peace and quiet. And as a night owl too, had little problem with staying awake.
Now tho, getting straight from work to uni lecture was a lot less fun. For others two, didn’t have time for shower and I reeked of hot dogs :/
