As an engineer, absolutely fucking not.

A scientist and a fascist with grant funding walk into a bar. Two fascists walk out

I’m not gonna watch the video, but I’m a scientist. I work with engineers.
The answer you’re looking for is no. (Maybe hell no.)

qualified people with basic scientific knowledge, yes.
having a PhD on how RNA produces isoforms (my field)? yhea, that ain’t a qualification for leadership.

Idk about “should” but I can tell you it might be hard to find willing ones
I’ve heard that there’s always a shortage of managers for mechanical engineering because companies want managers with engineering degrees but people with engineering degrees would rather not be managers.
Most engineers and scientists I know would love nothing more than to be able to forget about paperwork/managerial-work/human-interaction and focus solely on their projects/research.

It’s exactly that. Politics isn’t about managing. This is what it’s all about: politics is about people, not being a CEO. If you are to be a CEO, you’re already a technocrat, since which CEO wouldn’t want the most technical people on the team?
The problem is twofold: finding technical solutions for society as if it was a machine limited by degrees of freedom, and thinking that the best fit people should be on ruling positions.
Politics is about people!!

Stem people know more about how to fix problems in their areas of expertise than any MBA manager or lawyer who thinks they can run the whole planet since it revolves around them.

Should politicians and bireaucrats run nuclear reactors?
Here’s a clue for all of the self-satusfied STEMbros who think they can do anything - you’re about as skilled at making management decisions as managers are at fixing their own computers.

And the heavans parted just a moment for mortal man to glimpse god smiling down.
Lol dramatic shit aside, ive encountered so few that understand this until they see it for themself.
The question in the title would absolutely result in every UX, GUI, and every other type of interface looking like Windows 95 but without all the fancy graphics like pictures, wallpaper or color. Everything would be 100% performance efficiency and compatability with 0% left for customization, simplification, or any other resemblence of user feedback revisions/updates/products.
Talking specifically to my anecdotal experiences with engineers thru various industries, they can struggle with any real world result that doesnt exactly match their projected results because their calculations are not speculated, they are exact (insert sarcastic eyeroll).

Lol, a UI 😂
We don’t need no stinkin’ UI
