Umm… in what country is it people get kidnapped and ransomed every day? I mean, I’m not saying it’s not a thing, it does happen, but it’s actually pretty rare in most of North America. I mean, it’s pretty common in Mexico, but in most of the continent the most common kidnapping is a biological relative abducting a child.
Why is it I feel a tiny bit of empathy for the Guthries but really don;t care at all because people get kidnapped/ransomed every day, what makes he so special besides her daughter?

The countries of Chytown and LA and some sleezy parts of Seattle. Do you need more?

I bet you haven’t been to a “big city” more than once in the last 5 years. People are not regularly getting kidnapped off the streets of Chicago, and if you think they are you might want to look into where you’re getting your information from.

The only people abducting people and holding them for ransom in Chicago and Seattle are ICE agents.

I’m just curious if it’s MAGA connected. Some red hat Nutjobs that are mad at Savannah for being Anti-Trump.

I keep half expecting to hear ICE took her.

They’d leave a business card, not a ransom note. Very bizarre.

Because most people have a parasocial relationship with media personalities so it kinda feels like it’s happening to people you know.

You’re not wrong.
Should we feel bad for someone when this happens to them? Absolutely!
Should we feel any worse about this person than any other person in the same scenario? Not at all.
