So the answer the question is they do.

I appreciate your reply. I gave the game a legitimate shot. I put 40 hours of play time into the game and it is just not for me.

I don’t care at all what platform the game is on.
That game is maddeningly frustrating.

I would find that pretty awkward.
- Comment on The solar industry is full of parasites because it's easy to sell solar to uneducated customers 5 days ago:
It is easy to sell anything to uneducated customers. That is how Car dealerships survive.
The vast majority of people have no idea of finances. Car dealerships know how to exploit that.

- Comment on better paying job dealing with egos vs peace of mind job that pays poorly. I'd be taking a 20% financial hit. Worth it? 5 days ago:
I used to work in medicine and the docs would all say that Nurses eat their young. Nursing is a rough job.
I don’t have any way to give you a yes no answer on taking the 20% cut.
Your calculus is:
- Can you afford it?
- How would that negatively change your lifestyle?
- What is the stress total stress level reduction?
The salary difference is 21K, That boils down to a 612 reduction a pay check using 30% tax etc rate. Also I imagine your place has a 401K or some other retirement annuity that they do percent matching on, so what will the decreased pay do to that?
Can your monthly bills absorb a 612 reduction?
A 20% cut will cause X amount of stress in your life. Is that X amount less than the reduction of stress the new position will offer?
The kick in the ass is, when you make enough money it doesn’t matter, when you don’t make enough it is all that matters.
I did not take a 20% cut but I once took a job that was a pay cut and smaller future earning potential than the one I had because it offered me a better QoL.
It was so worth it… but again it was no where near a 20% reduction.
Here is an option. Can you take the 20% reduction and pick up OT or another part time job to offset?
- Comment on Do I need the ISPs home router? 1 week ago:
Yeah the ISP will have to give you an address. The headache might be finding out DHCP server’s hostname. You may be able to find that out from the IP information on the ISP Issued router you have.
- Comment on Do I need the ISPs home router? 1 week ago:
I guarantee your ISP’s router has some sort of Network Access Control (either Certificate or MAC addressed based authentication to access the ISP’s network.
It is an easy test. Just by-pass the router and see if it works.
The worse that can happen is your personal devices get denied access.
- Comment on RushTok backlash: Why sororities aren't letting prospects post 1 week ago:
This is a quandary for sorties and fraternities.
Those organizations are all about getting attention and selling an image, hard to sell and image if you can’t use the various content delivery platforms.
While frats and sororities don’t make much sense to me, there is no need for the members to be abused. They are just a bunch of kids. So, limiting social media is a probably a really good idea.

I am trying to get my mind how anyone could consider that a compliment, or how anyone could be a big enough asshole to say that to someone.

I think the sexual stereotypes are is that men hit And women tend to abuse through mental anguish.
Mental anguish is harder to portray on a screen than someone beating the fuck out of you.
- Comment on What bottles/containers should I use for shipping from sea level to places at higher altitudes? 1 week ago:
Sea level to very high elevations is not going to break any bottle. chances are what’s happening is the bottles are getting damaged during the shipping process.
I would find a way to pad the bottles with you know some something like a shipping peanuts or torn up newspapers or something of thatnature.

- Comment on Standing desks are like gym memberships. Plenty of people (and offices) pay for them but never use them 1 week ago:
This is a spot on showerthought!
My joint has a standing desk, but it is positioned so my back is to my door and it is under the glaring over head lights.
So I set up on a desk that allows me to see my door and to offer some cover from the overhead lights.

I live in the US and I am almost 60.

- Comment on [deleted] 1 week ago:
Should you feel embarrassed no.
Parents introducing their kids to romantic partners has happened since the dawn of time.
The difference here is how you are being told about it.
The hardest part of parenting is figuring out when the kid needs a hug, a challenge or just a swift kick in the ass.
This looks to me like a parent providing for his kid.
