- Comment on Three questions about superpowers, which is the best, and which is the worst? 22 hours ago:
Which superpower do you think is the most practical, versatile, and useful?
The ability to fly. You could clean your gutters, inspect your roof, get from one floor of a tall building to another.
Which do you think is the least practical and most useless?
Many offense ones, such as throwing fire, freezing things or shooting lasers out of your eyes. Never minding the potential of killing by standers outside of combat there is no day to day.
What would be a good drawback to your superpower of choice?
Hopefully you would never sleep fly….
- Comment on Socially inept, introverted employees. How do you survive the workplace? Because I’m in dire need of some serious advice. 1 day ago:
The reason your co-workers in the Emergency Department babble inane stuff to each other is it is a coping mechanism for all the brutal self destructive shit they see people do to themselves and to each other.
I’ve always have such issues working for other employers.
OP this is a key statement…
It’s like they believe the talkative ones over me. Why would I want to work for people like that?
OP you have had this same problem at other workplaces. You don’t feel a need to change your behavior.
Not wanting to chit chat at work is completely reasonable in some professions, IT research, laboratory work and so on. ED Nursing is not one of those professions. Nursing is all about executing a care plan as part of a team. Your managers are not believing your co-workers, your managers are confirming what you already know about yourself.
If you do have a disability/special needs you need to get that documented and inform your organization so the organization can create a reasonable accommodation.
I think you need to some self evaluation and see if there is a speciality of nursing that has limited contact with people.
I know that there are doctors who spend their days doing nothing but chart reviews. Is that something a nurse can do.
How does a socially inept, introverted person survive at work?
They find a profession that a socially inept introverted person can do.

- Comment on Is it safe to assume the guy i went out on a date with, just wants to sleep with me? 1 day ago:
Yeah.
When you are 30+ a 10+ age gap is not as significant.

- Comment on What would you do if your gym trainer is 5 minutes late? 2 days ago:
I am assuming you are paying this trainer for an hourly session.
This guy isn’t going to last as a trainer. They have two hours (7-9) in the morning to see clients and three maybe four (4-7) in the afternoon.
He either cuts your session short or he makes his next client late too.
You said he was late three times in a row and will unpredictable when football season starts?
Fire him.

13 years is a significant age gap for someone in their mid twenties.
I am certain he wants to have sex with you, wether or not he is thinking about a long term relationship, I have no insights.
It could be that he is not thinking about that. You are pretty vague on when you are relocating, so maybe he thinks that if the two of you work out, than you will stay.
- Comment on Why are there no universities/colleges that start in the afternoons? 3 days ago:
So, how come all full-time education seems to start around 9am-10am?
Are you sure they don’t.
When I went to undergrad plenty of classes started at 11, 1, 4 and 7pm.
My kid went to undergrad about 15 years ago and the same was offered and he had a number of online options that he could do pretty much anytime.

- Comment on In the olden days, when people got married a lot younger, there were probably lots of grandparents in their thirties 3 days ago:
Oh hell yes and they want that long ago. When I was 16 (1980s) I was friends with a girl also 16 whose mother was 31 and her grandmother was mid 40s. Both the mom and grandmom gave birth at 15/16.
As an aside They were cool as can be and most of my circle of friends would hangout at her house

I will go against the grain here.
22 is way to young to make any “permanent” decisions.
Unfortunately that is he age when many have kids so…
If you do decide to, there is also an out.
You can have sperm frozen.

Avatar didn’t come out of nowhere at all. It is made by one of the most beloved and successful film makers in history. The hype leading up to that movie was off the charts.
- Comment on When it comes to food, my dog is like a tow truck driver. 1 week ago:
OMFG yes.
I once made myself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, set it down on my coffee table to grab my remote and my dog had the whole thing in his mouth in less than a nano-second.
Our eyes met and he froze, and then put it back on the plate. At that point it was his but I did not want the poor bugger to choke so I broke up and gave it to him.
I loved that dog but he was a garage can.
