- Comment on How come decades in the 1900s look fairly well differentiated but from like 2004 on feels like a giant run on? 1 day ago:
I suspect because you haven’t had any major milestones this century. I graduated undergrad and 93 joined the army, met my wife and son. I got out of the army in 2000, A few years later, I adopted my son, A next major milestone was when he first went to first grade then when he went to middle school, then when he graduated high school school. I got a great job in 2000. I got an even better job in 2002. I got an even better job in 2006 and then I got a Phenomenal job in 2010. Lots of major milestones to break up the early parts of the century. Then I had similar major milestones between 2010 and 2020 and 2020 was the pandemic and blah blah blah blah blah

- Comment on How/why does Microsoft teams exist? 1 week ago:
You are absolutely correct. That they aer bundling the different software is why it will lack.
If a tool bundles up 10 components and then you poll ten people all they have to do is not like one of those components for the whole bundle to lack.
- Comment on 1 week ago:
OP you are absolutely correct.
Unfortunately this also applies when there isn’t snow.
- Comment on If you receive a high medical bill, don't pay it immediately. Ask for an itemized bill first. 1 week ago:
The games that hospitals and medical providers play with bills is unreal. My wife and I had to manage cancer treatment for one of our family members and the amount of incorrect bills, redundant bills and deluge of documents that were sent were from the hospital and various providers was fucking insane.
Little did they know that my wife is a machine when it comes to organizing and dissecting information. She would routinely crush those fuckers on the bills they were sending. They tried to bill for the same procedure FOUR times!
If the person getting the treatment had to handle all those bills while being incapacitated withe chemo and pain management they would have been screwed hard.
I do not have any hard evidence that all of the above was by design or by errors in the system but it sure seemed intentional.

I have been forced to switch to different collaboration tools and platforms a number of times and it always just sucks…
For me that pain began back when I was forced to stop using AIM ( America Online Instant Messenger).
- Comment on How/why does Microsoft teams exist? 1 week ago:
Yes…
I have used it daily for at least six years.
Overlayed on that is I have used WebEx for about 15 years, hell maybe 20 years.
I agree that it has UI has issues, so does Webex, so does Zoom… hell Skype had its issues as well.
There is a lot about teams I don’t like, but that is every collaboration tool I have ever used.
Truth be had the only collaboration tool I have ever been satiated with is the tool my university used back in 2000, but that probably had more to do with not having to drive to class.
- Comment on How/why does Microsoft teams exist? 1 week ago:
Teams and Teams Calling exist because it way past time for hardphones to disappear.
Any organization that does not fully embrace remote employees are stuck in the fucking 1980s.
All collaboration software has issues. Women is wonky as hell, Zooms has just as many issues as Teams and Teams is just as buggy as Webex…
- Comment on How/why does Microsoft teams exist? 1 week ago:
Everything you posted can be applied to all software, particularly collaboration software packages.
All software needs a special driver to work on MACs, even software made by Apple.
All software has UI issues and always will.
- Comment on How/why does Microsoft teams exist? 1 week ago:
Oh please…All Collaboration tools have the same number of issues, just different ones.
- Comment on I consider myself as a left-libertarian who supports limited government and direct democracy. Can left-libertarians support limited government? 1 week ago:
I am going to work under the assumption that this is a legitimate question and not bating.
One of the corner stones of libertarianism is limited government.
