The oblivion remaster is kind of garbage ngl. I had fun in the first half but it always kind of ran bad and now it doesnt even launch anymore. Definitely better to just buy the original and put some texture mods on it.

On my death bed, one of my many regrets will be having played Starfield
thingsiplay@lemmy.ml 3 weeks ago
Why did you regret playing Starfield?

Nintendo is the Apple of gaming. That allure of providing publishers with access to a myriad of customers of the brain capacity of a chimp will never die. Oblivion Remaster runs like shit on modern hardware, now imagine it running on the switch2… It’ll run and look like utter shait.
Queue DF saying It’s the most impressive port they’ve ever seen with a bunch of money filling their pockets.

I can buy Skyrim AGAIN?! Fuck Yeah.
RamRabbit@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Never understood why people rebuy Skyrim over and over. Buy it once on Steam and call it a day. (even works as a handheld via the Steam Deck)

tbf someone could have bought it 15 years ago for the 360 and now for a second time for portable gaming because they own a switch 2. that would be imho totally fine(except for the horrible pricing and buggy state of the game, but in general…). the comical part is how often bethesda rereleased this title already. but as you say there seem to be enough people which just rebuy skyrim again and again and again. somehow bethesda just doesnt need to develop another game for one of the biggest gaming franchises.
ps yeah, bought skyrim once on a steam sale 10 years ago. :D

A buddy gifted me og Skyrim and we played a ton. Fast forward and well OG still has the helicopter intro problem, I’ve got a deck and new computer and we wanna play again. This time i buy him the remaster/whatever and we play again a ton.
Am I happy about owning it twice? No. Was it woth the 2x20 bucks in the end? Yeah we played a ton more.

And apparently the Switch 2 of Skyrim sucks haha, not sure if that ever got fixed

It was a free upgrade iirc. Tried it on launch and whoooo… the frame times had me wondering if there wasn’t something wrong with my hardware.
It was unplayable as a stealth archer (as one does). Impossible to aim and hit anything without massive user compensation.
