We’ve taken all the blame and put it on AI like it’s acting independently and appeared out of nowhere. This is global collusion to fuck the customers everywhere. It’s people doing this.

- Comment on The dominoes are falling: motherboard sales down 50% as PC enthusiasts are put off by stinking memory prices 4 weeks ago:
These companies have been found guilty of collusion in other markets (lcd panels anyone?) so what you are saying while factually correct, is in fact because of the failure to address the post collusion market. A fine is paid and then business as usual. It’s like a chicken vs egg argument except instead of just recognizing it doesn’t matter and regulate a market properly we use it as perfect justification for doing nothing.

Or gpu prices or hdd/ssd prices that never recovered from the tsunami. Consumers just keep getting fucked.

Fyi my TVs all have 100mbit ports and I stream 4k content all the time. Larger files (LOTR 50gbish) can take a while to pre load when direct streaming but once they start it’s smooth and i can seek instantly.

That’s end stage capitalism. Supply side economics. We make product, you buy product.

- Comment on Nvidia plans heavy cuts to GPU supply in early 2026 5 weeks ago:
You can’t sustain it because it’s unsustainable. It’s exponentially inefficient. This isn’t like the US auto industry where labor negotiations blah blah blah. This is a black hole that is disappearing everything it touches. Brand loyalty, human rights, natural resources, political stability.

Age the bread in black contractor bags. Have someone yell at you if you take to long ordering. If you wanna recreate the downtown Rochester one bring a shotgun and let off a few rounds as well.

I think my issue was that the shelves are just number based so remaking a shelf isn’t the same as the original. Def operator error. Sync still worked fine it just removed books from the shelf but stayed on the device.

Before you get too far into it, check out booklore and calibre-web-automated.

I use calibre to organize them i dump them into calibre-web. From there we make shelves (my wife and I) and sync with our Kobos.

I have a docker VM with a gpu passed through/external access and another docker VM on another machine with no passthrough/external access. So both VMs are running multiple stacks/services. Storage and memory are cheap imo and it’s the most secure way to do it with the skill level i have so it’s how i run it. I’m sure there’s better ways but 🤷♂️
