Yup, I played more and it turns out there’s a ton of content, including alternate stages with different enemies/bosses. This game is so good.

I’ve been using Fluxer recently. It’s been pretty nice since they migrated the servers, and as soon as self-hosting and federation gets added (which is top priority according to Herman), I hope people will switch over.

Played a few runs, the game is pretty darn fun as you might expect but since it’s still in early access it might not have that much content yet. I will say it feels like a much more polished and fun version of StS1 so far, and I haven’t even tried multiplayer yet.

That’s really disappointing, I was looking forward to the Returnal sequel and that Wolverine game.
- Comment on Apple introduces Macbook Neo - cheaper Macbooks starting at $599 1 week ago:
An iPad Air costs the same but comes with a much better M4 processor.
Sure, but a tablet isn’t a laptop.
- Comment on Apple introduces Macbook Neo - cheaper Macbooks starting at $599 1 week ago:
Honestly I’m expecting this to take up most of the mid-range laptop market. 8gb RAM and only 256GB storage is lame, but the rest of it probably makes it really good value (especially with components getting more expensive recently).
Unless you’re buying used or refurbished, most laptops I found at ~$600 or less kinda suck. Either it has terrible specs, or uses cheap plastic, or has a terrible screen, etc.
I don’t like Apple, but hopefully this is a wake-up call for other vendors. Lower end laptops should stop being cheap garbage.

Man, I remember this. Me and my friend bought it on release and refunded it. It was lacking a lot, and the playerbase was already dead. The few people we did play with just ran forward alone and died.

I am once again asking for a release date on Mina the Hollower. It was supposed to release last Halloween but got delayed, I’m really looking forward to it.

Nintendo has been doing indie showcases for years now, they’re pretty well received by devs and players from what I understand.
- Comment on 1 week ago:
I’m totally keeping my eye on the emulator, but from what I heard it still needs more time. I’ve heard of occasional crashes, vertex explosions, random graphical issues happening. Also, it needs a really good computer to run at 60fps.
I’m excited for when it does work flawlessly, but I do wish they’d just port a native version to PC.
- Comment on 1 week ago:
It really doesn’t need a remake, it just needs a port to modern systems, upscaled textures, and bumped up to 60fps. It doesn’t need anything else, and it’s weird that Fromsoft hasn’t bothered to do any of that.
It makes sense that they wouldn’t want Bluepoint to do a full remake too because they took a lot of weird liberties in Demon’s Souls IMO. They’re 10/10 technically but they changed things that didn’t need to be changed and refused to touch things that everybody wanted changed (why is the gargoyle’s AI still broken…)
- Comment on Pokémon Winds and Waves announced, releasing 2027 1 week ago:
Huh, so they’re actually going to wait a year. I honestly expected them to push a Pokemon game ASAP for the Switch 2, but I guess it’s better that they take their time than release a mess like Scarlet & Violet.
- Comment on What do you guys think of Crimson Desert? 2 weeks ago:
Indifferent to it. It looks nice but I’ll wait until reviews and early impressions before deciding to play it.
It looks pretty nice but definitely has the potential to be a bloated mess with how many things are crammed into it.

Yup. OpenGOAL is pretty good, but Jak 2 & Jak 3 are still incomplete and have issues.

Early access release date is March 5 btw, just two weeks from now.

Yeah. I wouldn’t mind a Jak and Daxter trilogy remake either.
- Comment on BREAKING: PlayStation is shutting down Bluepoint Games (Demon's Souls/Shadow of the Colossus remakes) 3 weeks ago:
NO…
I was hoping for the Demon’s Souls remake to get ported to PC as I would love to play the game again. A PC version of the game was included in the same Nvidia leak that showed Helldivers 2 before it was announced. Every showcase, I was wondering where Bluepoint were… And now they went under.
Complete insanity that Sony forced them to do a live service game for the past few years. Bluepoint was practically an art studio, they could’ve spent the next 20 years just remaking old games and make bank. What were they thinking?
- Comment on Did anyone really think the Final Fantasy 7 remake was better than the original PS1 version? 3 weeks ago:
This might be a hot take but I don’t think the original FF7 aged well. The combat gets really repetitive and I never finished it. The atmosphere and general story is awesome, but it’s still very “of its time” when it comes to delivering that story and reading all the dialogue. Your head fills in the blanks in the story and gets over the shoddy translation.
I loved Remake, honestly. We can all agree that the side quests were filler and the story isn’t very well paced, but everything worked for me and I enjoyed it way more than the original. Rebirth felt bloated and I didn’t care for the open world stuff. Screw that card game, too.
One thing I will say is that they definitely overcooked the story in the remakes. The whole multiverse time travel dementors kingdom-hearts-ass confusing storyline was unnecessary. I guess they felt the need that they had to do something new to catch the old fans off guard.
- Comment on I designed a board game (creative commons/open source) 3 weeks ago:
Pretty damn cool. I haven’t read most of the rules but my first impressions from playing a game vs the bot is that the board feels a little too big. There’s a lot of moving from A to B and a lot of downtime. I feel like if you could remove maybe 1/3rd of the spaces it could be much more engaging.
- Comment on Fighting games have a product design problem 3 weeks ago:
It can be a problem if the company is trying to bring in and maintain new users, which is kinda why the article was made. 2XKO laid off most of their team and scaled back development because it wasn’t successful. It’s also hurting indies like Rivals of Aether 2 which seems to be doing OK but not as good as the first game.

As is tradition. People complained hard about Little Nightmares 2 being expensive for how short it was on release, too.
- Comment on 4 weeks ago:
Super excited for this regardless, but the combat feels a bit floaty here. Feels like a lot of fighting has no impact, hopefully they can improve upon it by the time it launches.

Epic must’ve given them a really good publishing deal to make it an exclusive though. If it were also on Steam it definitely would’ve moved more copies but I doubt they would end up with more money than what Epic paid.

They were already building lasting value.
Not… Really. Alan Wake 2 under-performed and reportedly broke even 2 years after release. FBC Firebreak was a huge failure. It’s not surprising to me that they’re gonna pursue money harder. I hope Control 2 is good, at least.
- Comment on Discord is about to require age verification for everyone 4 weeks ago:
This sucks ass and even worse that there isn’t a competitor that’s anywhere near Discord’s level yet. And no, Matrix isn’t a discord competitor.
FWIW the title is wrong, they won’t require age verification for everyone, you just won’t be able to access 18+ servers and see porn unless you’re verified. And according to Discord the verification videos stay on-device and never gets sent to servers. If this is true then at least it’s better than the privacy nightmare of other platforms…
This was already launched last year for the UK and Australia, and now it’s going global.
Screw you for pushing this, UK and Australia.
