Isn’t this a Remake rather than Remaster?

Oh god for a second I thought this is a new DLSS 5 “ai enhanced” edition. Glad it is a normal enhanced version.

For the most part they don’t. And it is only one reason why Indie games are important. The other is that the games often tend to be cheaper, sometimes more innovative, doesn’t try to put micrtransactions in everything and so on.
- Comment on The RAM crisis could completely change how developers make video games 4 days ago:
That is not really true. I use same graphics card and upgrade it with new console cycle. Or maybe once in between.

- Comment on What are your best memories of playing Civilization III? 5 days ago:
I doubt it runs on linux. Last time I tried 15 years ago, it ran but everything was black and the mouse wouldn’t capture within the game window.
Civ Revolution is not available for PC. So did you try a different Civ game on Linux? If you want play the PS3 version again and have a powerful machine, then emulating PS3 with RPCS3 is an option. The compatibility rating for the game on the emulator is rated as Playable.
- Comment on Steam :: About the New York Attorney General lawsuit against Valve 1 week ago:
I think lots of people have a problem or could get a problem with that, and don’t realize it. I mean it is similar to the shitty microtransactions situation on smartphone games. I say similar in the sense, that most people don’t have a problem with it, compared to the population and how many have a problem. This should not be an excuse for exploitation of the weak ones.
But besides that, I don’t even think its a problem with a few only. Even the potential of getting addicted is bad. There are reasons why children (i mean under 18) are not allowed in casinos. Are these games and the gambling with CS:GO and Team Fortress 2 for 18+ only? Whatever it is, we all know younger people play these games too. If not the microphone is a good indication… but I digress here. I hope the market place in Steam will go away. There is no good reason for, other than Valve making money. There is not benefit for humanity or the people.
BTW the situation with my bro was not that too bad, just saying. It was a slight problem, but one that showed me first hand (or is it second hand?). I am also glad you made it through your difficult times.
- Comment on Steam :: About the New York Attorney General lawsuit against Valve 1 week ago:
I just briefly mentioned EA for having lootboxes. It could have been any other company. My point is, if any other company did what Valve did, I would hate that too. Also that the items in Steam / Valve games are transferable doesn’t matter, because it is still lootbox, a chance and gamble to get something and to get addicted. In fact, being able to transfer and sell or trade makes this even worse than static micro transactions to me. It is the same problem with collectable sports or Pokemon cards (which is in my opinion worse, because kids can buy them and get addicted…).
To make that clear: To me the trade market of Valve is a huge problem. This should not be a thing with videogames. Not even EA does that, or any other company for that matter (I am not focused on EA, it was just an example).
My bro in example got addicted to CS:GO skins and wasted lot of money. Because he could get the one expensive item and could sell it for lots of money. And that is not okay!
- Comment on Steam :: About the New York Attorney General lawsuit against Valve 1 week ago:
As much as I like Valve, I really hate their virtual items trade market and the lootboxes in some of their games. I hate if EA does that, so I hate if Valve does that. And comparing them to real cards falls flat, because virtual cards are not real cards. Valve does not want give up the trade market, because they get money for doing nothing with each transaction.
This topic is the biggest flaw and problem I have with Valve, otherwise I am a Valve lover and fanboy.
- Comment on Sony Faces $2.7 Billion UK Lawsuit Over PlayStation Store Monopoly Claims | TechPowerUp} 1 week ago:
While I am a Valve fanboy, I still have to agree that Valve is not innocent. There are stuff I hate about Valve doing. But its not about abusing monopoly position (I even argue its not real monopoly position, but that’s not my main point). So yes, Valve is not innocent, but “leave Valve alone” in the context of accusing them to abuse their monopoly position.
- Comment on Sony Faces $2.7 Billion UK Lawsuit Over PlayStation Store Monopoly Claims | TechPowerUp} 1 week ago:
Even Valve gets sued, while being on an open platform and having real competition unlike the single stores on consoles. Next sue Nintendo for having monopoly on handhelds, in the same vein as Sony on consoles and Valve on PC platform.

- Comment on Ubisoft could rely heavily on microtransactions and live-service Assassin's Creed games 1 week ago:
Honestly I hope they don’t. There are still talented people working and creating games, not always the best ones, but still. And they own lot of beloved franchises. Bankrupt would be the worst case. If they go down, then I hope another company (Tencent?) will buy Ubisoft.

- Comment on Sony is testing dynamic pricing: one game - different prices on the PlayStation Store 1 week ago:
Valve is also the only company out of these big gaming companies who do lot of Open Source (working on it and funding other projects) and care about Linux. It maybe coincidental, but these care and goals align with my personal interests. No other company in the gaming industry does that to this extend, plus its an open platform. And being a private company brings also lot of freedom to not listen to shareholders.
The only thing is, that Steam itself is not Open Source… and the uncertainty what will happen if one day Gabe will no longer control…
- Comment on Sony is testing dynamic pricing: one game - different prices on the PlayStation Store 1 week ago:
Being transparent about stable prices without shady experiments is the first step of trust. Years ago Steam got rid of dynamic prices during sales, where prices during sales for games would change. While not exactly the same thing as Sony does, its still good we got stable and reliable prices.
- Comment on Microsoft Confirms 'Project Helix,' a Next-Gen Xbox That Can Run PC Games 1 week ago:
I’m hoping Steam comes in and just destroys console gaming forever.
It’s a wishful thinking. Consoles “should” be priced cheaper than PCs, as they are closed down and can subsidies prices. Initial console price was always a big deal. And because it is closed down, they can arrange exclusivity deals, which is a huge, maybe even bigger huge, reason to buy a console than its initial price. A Steam Machine does not have any of these crucial points. But Steam shows the gamers and the industry a lot and is an evolutionary step towards a PC centric gaming culture. The ARM based PC race is in full development and could revolutionize consoles in the future. And Linux is behind all of that. :-)

- Comment on Fully Modded Skyrim VR in Samsung Galaxy XR is Something Else 2 weeks ago:
My assumption is, that “fully modded” refers to a state, where the game is like an entire new release (new game or Remaster in example). Partially modded could be in example just changing a few things, without altering the entire game, maybe new weapons or a new character or a region of the map changed. There is no clear definition what these vague terms mean. I just provided a vague answer to a vague question about a vague topic. :D

- Comment on Crimson Desert First Look: The BlackSpace Engine Tech Preview 2 weeks ago:
But we didn’t see any gameplay since then and no other announcements. I don’t think that a 7 year old teaser adds to exhaustion in the sense I was talking about. When we saw Crimson Desert the first time just recently, it was new experience for us to see, not a 7 year old game.
- Comment on Crimson Desert First Look: The BlackSpace Engine Tech Preview 2 weeks ago:
So after all, looks like this is real and there are no tricks. If Digital Foundry could play and test it, and got pretty good information and recordings from developers, then I have no doubt anymore. At least from technical standpoint. I really get Zelda Tears of the Kingdom vibes here and based of previous hints we saw, just with a more realistic tone and better graphics. Very curious!
I’m glad the developers didn’t show or announce the game too early. Now we are super hyped and don’t need to wait long. Other companies show games too early and often, so when it comes out it feels old.

I don’t even know what All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros is.
It’s basically an official licensed Romhack, mostly (if not only I think) for graphics. “All Night Nippon” was a radio show and game was sold through lottery.
