Wow dat shit is both cursed and insulting to voice actors as well as gamers.

Can’t wait until they double down and make this some kind of monthly service DLC.
Starting next month we’ll be providing even more bonuses of your PlayStation Plus subscription by adding slop no one asked for, completely free of charge*!
*Subscriptions will also increase $18 a month to $25
I was just thinking that one person I’ve met is an incredibly gifted actor, including voice acting. There are a few records floating around having heard which no man wants to live. I haven’t had a chance to listen to them in full, patiently and for a few times, but I hope some day I will.
So-o … I don’t think this is something that can be done properly by a machine. Not yet. Too much context and nuance. And also I’m not sure this is legal. I don’t think those actors consented to any other derivative works other than the original games.
I hate the timeline we’re living in.
More stuff no one ever asked for. Who wants this crap?
They want to set a precedent of using recordings from voice actors to generate new content. They move the bar a little at a time until the worst is normalized.

Disgust aside, how is this fucking patentable??
Because they hand patents out for anything especially under the Trump patent office. If I remember correctly they don’t do any prior art review any more. You practically just have to apply for a patent. They’re cutting reviewers and it’s going to cost billions in lawsuits to undo the patents they should never have handed out.
We all hate Trump but I’m pretty sure tech industry patents have been fucked for a while.
Like… Apple and Samsung sued each other over rounded corners nearly 10 years ago.
The system has been and remains broken was the point I was trying to make with my rhetorical question.
“Hitler had the right idea”.-Kratos, probably
Need to hear what Kratos would say about ICE goons and how much he’d rip their heads off now.
“They should have complied”. -Kratos powered by GrokAI
well, I never thought “what if Nathan Drake hosted a podcast?”, but here we are.
Isn’t this what Google NotebookLM does for about a year already?
All Sony’s characters are boring and generic what could they possibly talk about.

So they’re using the voices of voice actors without paying the voice actors. Hooray.

I sometimes remember that there’s gamers out there who have disabilities…
And then I remember my friend who has to use a mouth controller to play games, and I’m certain they wouldn’t want this shit anywhere near them. What a demoralizing feeling to have a computer play the game for you. Yuck.

I hope if they ever release it that it sucks a fat shit and gets you killed half the time. That classic Earthbound “auto mode” experience.

Idk, I’ve left some games behind, which I could have played many more hours, just because I didn’t have the patience to get past a level/battle/boss, whatever. Not so much as a teenager, but definitely as an adult.

Sony locking the technology that removes the fun part of a game from the game behind the 1,000 year IP door is an accidental blessing.

Are they slowly inventing movies?

If I hadn’t already been deeply pissed at Sony for all of the last 25 years, this would be the last straw and cause me to cut them out of my gaming and media habits.
