Good news prior to holiday sales. Makes it easier to avoid the entire publisher

I’ve been avoiding them for years. They are incredibly hostile to their players.

More reasons I’ll be pirating GTA6

The most effective boycott is to not play it and not talk about it.

It’s not like the official multiplayer servers are any good anyways.

Or functional on Linux… Which makes me wonder… Is there a way to play GTA online on Linux through unofficial means?

hell yea !

lol, this is exactly what creates unions

Turnover is so fucking high in that industry, anyone working in there now would have their CVs ready in case they’re marked for retrenchment or layoff. Given the suits constant desire for pure profit, anyone wishing to apply for the big leagues should be thinking twice about this.

Right. This isn’t new in that industry.

The same notoriously shitty company, Rockstar? Color me surprised. Don’t support them with anything.
thermal_shock@lemmy.world 2 days ago
Can I still pirate and share all their games? Lol

Never played RDR 2 because of their abuse of workers, and wasn’t planning on playing GTA. Please support smaller teams instead.

Of all segments of the software industry, games seem to be the most exploitative. So sad, for what should be fun. Business execs taking advantage of those who cannot resist working on their passion. Unions need to get in that industry so very badly.

The same company that declared a war against singleplayer and modding community because they wanted to make more money from online inapp sales? How shocking.

I could understand if it was the US, but doesn’t the UK and/or Canada have anti-union-busting laws?
mohab@piefed.social 2 days ago
Right, and for there next trick they’re gonna break the all-time sales record with GTA6 because no one gives a fuck and evil is just OK now.

It’s extremely profitable. If you have a problem with that, I’ll fucking ruin your life. If you look like you might be able to make ruining your life difficult and it’ll cost me a lot to ruin your life, I’ll just save myself the trouble and spend it to give you enough to make you forget what you were upset about. It’s a cost benefit analysis, really. Yay capitalism!

It’s 2025, $ > humanity.

The more people they fire, the more fragile they make themselves. They can replace devs, sure but they are losing tribal knowledge they will never get back. There comes a point where it starts to show in the end product.
