Maybe i want to emphasize and strengthen my comments?
Why should I know this? What’s the difference and why does it matter?
If it gets rendered into HTML as /<em> and /<strong>, that’s the fault of the markup implementation, not the users.
How is that abusing them exactly?

Test successful. Nice.
I just decided to use the classic variants from now on (by adding '\'s), just as in the good old days!
I haven’t seen <b> and <i> being used for years. I thought they were fully replaced by <strong> and <em>
They have different meanings, but you’re correct that <b> and <i> are fully deprecated.

Well, I need my text to be italic and that is what lemmy offers me. Seems like a problem on the lemmy end.
