- Comment on If I publish my memoir and wrote about every bad thing people did to hurt me while the people mentioned are still alive, how much trouble could I get in? 5 days ago:
It depends on where you publish it: In the United States, the truth is a complete defense to libel suits, so you wouldn’t get in any trouble. This, of course, assumes that you can prove the contents of the book and have not signed any NDAs that would prohibit such a book.
- Comment on My apartment building gives me free water but I pay for electricity. What if I run the faucet nonstop and rig up a hydro turbine in my bathtub to generate my power from it? 1 week ago:
It’s like they say: Comedy is hard.
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 1 week ago:
Dying Light 2 has been my go-to for the last few weeks, so I’ll probably play some more of that.

You are the one who isn’t understanding but yeah, fuck Nestle!
- Comment on 3.5" floppy disks were peak tactile feedback in storage: easy to stick in, drives had a button to immediately eject them, big enough to get labels, thin enough that stacks didn't take too much space 1 week ago:
Kinda sounds like you are blaming the case at least in part. Why not switch to a better case?

I disagree, MicroSD is my external storage of choice. Their size makes them ideal to carry and store but you might need to rethink how you go about doing it.

You can label them with smol labels, that’s what I do with all of mine! They’re full of movies, books, and video game installs.
- Comment on ARC Raiders - anyone else looting in their sleep? 1 week ago:
I haven’t played, but have experienced this with games and sometimes certain tasks at work.

MicroSD cards fit these requirements too
- Comment on Creating apps like Signal or WhatsApp could be 'hostile activity,' claims UK watchdog 3 weeks ago:
Seems like something that you should sue over, but that’s easier said than done for most folks. If you want to try and help maintain your privacy, use a virtual device or a “burner” that’s only used to access what’s necessary and for nothing else. Keep them off unless you actively need them and deny all unnecessary permissions. It’s not perfect but it’s less bad than giving them even more information to datamine for profit at your expense.

Damn right I did.

The world is a big place and disconnecting gives you a huge boost in privacy. It’s not all black-and-white.

Wow, the UK sounds like an awful place.
- Comment on China Has Reportedly Built Its First EUV Machine Prototype, Marking a Semiconductor Breakthrough the U.S. Has Feared All Along 4 weeks ago:
I mean, it kinda still does, but even if they did eventually invade, it wouldn’t necessarily make China the only game in town.
- Comment on China Has Reportedly Built Its First EUV Machine Prototype, Marking a Semiconductor Breakthrough the U.S. Has Feared All Along 4 weeks ago:
If Taiwan gets invaded they’ll just blow their chip fabs, they’ve said as much multiple times and presumably have a plan in place to do it at a moment’s notice.

There are lots of good indie games every year, just have to find them!
- Comment on Steam Replay is live and notes only 14% "of playtime spent by all Steam users" was for 2025 releases 4 weeks ago:
Me too: AAA games are just kinda shit these days, which is kind of a slap in the face given the skyrocketing prices. Plus there’s invasive shit a lot of them started using in the name of anticheat.
The appeal of AAA games was killed long ago by corporate greed.
- Comment on I hate how inescapable politics are on Lemmy, but ya know, at least nobody's constantly asking how I wipe my butt or pick up my dog's poop then completely ignoring me when I try to answer. 1 month ago:
You are now a poop sherpa, thank you for your kind service.

- Comment on What game is a guilty pleasure of yours? 1 month ago:
Probably Vampire Survivors or Vampire Hunters: Sometimes it’s just nice to play something where you don’t really have to think too hard.
- Comment on Valve confirm the Steam Machine will be priced like a PC with similar specs, rather than a console 1 month ago:
I am a PC gamer and am considering one as long as the price is reasonable.
- Comment on Are you ready for a $1,000 Steam Machine? Some analysts think you should be. 1 month ago:
Yeah, but you can though. Go spec your own gaming rig if you don’t believe me.
Also, again, there’s pretty much no way it’ll be $1,000.
- Comment on Are you ready for a $1,000 Steam Machine? Some analysts think you should be. 1 month ago:
Less than $1,000? Yes, definitely. We’ll see what the price actually is, but I doubt it’ll be anywhere near that high. Valve was pretty smart about sourcing their parts for low cost and decent performance. I wouldn’t be surprised if it were closer to $500 even.
- Comment on How do you respond to unwanted advice? 2 months ago:
Ah ok, sure, got it, understood, etc.
- Comment on Are you ready for a $1,000 Steam Machine? Some analysts think you should be. 2 months ago:
At $1,000 that’d be a hard pass for me even though I love Valve.

- Comment on Valve says it’s still waiting for better chips to power Steam Deck 2 2 months ago:
Fine by me, I still use my Steam Deck all the time and am regularly impressed at what it can run.
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 2 months ago:
Still kind of getting into it, but I haven’t quit playing yet lol
The airship thing is kinda what sold me on it actually.
