But the one time someone (Luigi) from the left (allegedly) uses violence to make a statement (not directly political), they are overwhelmingly supported by the public. Huh.

How many from the Left?
According to the list: one (Quintez Brown). Which is surprising, as the title says “Not one”.
MrFappy@lemmy.world 3 months ago
He’s from a far right extremist group, just not the white nationalist one we are used to. But his views were essentially far right for the black world.
mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 3 months ago
mid, not left. nationalist, but socialist. is not confined to the left

despite the name Black nationalism is a leftist ideology

Source on Tyler embracing Nick Fuentes? I heard early speculation about that but recently saw CNN articles pointing him to being at least left leaning
taiyang@lemmy.world 3 months ago
The Fuentes part has been floated around cause of the memes in the bullet casings. I wouldn’t call Tyler left leaning, but possibly questioning his right wing roots. There is evidence he’s unaffiliated by party, though, which should be unsurprising given his age. Its easy to look that up, though I’m not op.
Ops overall point does stand, though, as Tyler is raised in right wing gun culture even if his motive is unclear at this time.

Plenty of leftists are raised in right wing gun culture

NonAmerican here with a stupid question that I feel I should already know, but can’t seem to grasp: is right = republican and left = democrat?
dubyakay@lemmy.ca 3 months ago
There is no left in the US political landscape.
Far right = republican
Centre right = democrat
01189998819991197253@infosec.pub 3 months ago
So, what would left be, then?
this@sh.itjust.works 3 months ago
Yea, basically we Americans are too stupid to understand the complexity of different political systems, so most of us boil it down to Left/Liberal/Democrat/socialist/communist/ect and Right/Conservative/Republican/fascist/Libertarian/nazi/ect with everything I just mentioned supposedly existing on opposing sides of one imaginary line somehow.
Also, the Republicans and Democrats are the only two political parties that have (or for the time being, can have) power in the us, because of the two party system, which makes the problem worse.
CptOblivius@lemmy.world 3 months ago
For the most part yes.

That’s easy to remember. Right Republican
MangioneDontMiss@feddit.nl 3 months ago
probably part of the reason republicans think they can get away with absolutely anything they want and they are completely above the law.

It’s ok, I’m sure the person who shot up two homeless encampments was a leftist.

“For years, those on the radical Left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world’s worst mass murderers and criminals. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism that we’re seeing in our country today.” - Trump
Wow, what do you know. Trump not recognizing his own contributions to the kind of rhetoric that is directly responsible for this shit.
Trump is the reason things are the way they are.
Bennyboybumberchums@lemmy.world 3 months ago
No, you are. All of you. All you who play the game of culture wars. You both do the same extremist nonsense. People cant even just not like a tv show now without being called a fucking nazi. You have all contributed to the radicalisation and extremism we see today bleeding into the real world. Trump didnt cause that, hes the product of it. He saw a way to gain power, and that was with the right side of said culture war who moan any time a woman is in something. But dont pretend the left… Its not even fucking left. Its just not as right as the right.
You all practice this bullshit way of alienating people, and then act surprised when those you bully fight back. Stop it, and the Trumps of the world will lose their power.

Robinson has no party links, but has reportedly embraced the extremism of right wing racist Nick Fuentes.
Reportedly from where? This claim from what I gather is simply not true. He was dating a transgender furry for crying out loud, and the bullet said “catch, fascist”

transgender furry

media.snopes.com/2025/09/robinson_indictment.pdf
Robinson’s mother explained that over the last year or so, Robinson had become more political and had started to lean more to the left – becoming more pro-gay and trans-rights oriented. She stated that Robinson began to date his roommate, a biological male who was transitioning genders. This resulted in several discussions with family members, but especially between Robinson and his father, who have very different political views. In one conversation before the shooting, Robinson mentioned that Charlie Kirk would be holding an event at UVU, which Robinson said was a “stupid venue” for the event. Robinson accused Kirk of spreading hate.

But after the first one, there at some point inevitably will be, they will no longer play nice.
Kyrgizion@lemmy.world 3 months ago
Doesn’t matter. Facts are irrelevant now. Curated echo chambers is all we’ve got left. Their stupidity is as valid as your wisdom. There’s no logical or constructive way to fix that.
floquant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 months ago
No. Just don’t play into their hand. The “post-truth world” is not inevitable, some “people” are just pushing really hard for it to be that way. Keep bringing up things that were said and things that were done, with receipts. Think and teach about the differences between facts, beliefs, thoughts, and opinions. Do keep making compilations of all the evil and insane shit they’ve done, with rigor and composure. They will be unable to come up with anything more than boogeystrawman arguments and hate
obinice@lemmy.world 3 months ago
Absolutely, but also remember that they will eventually track you down and kill you for it, once their regime reaches full power.
p03locke@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 months ago
The left is already playing into their hand by having the wrong fucking argument. The whole media blitz around Charlie Kirk and whether the left did it or not is irrelevant and spreads the wrong message. Yet, there’s countless counterarguments around if the left did it or not, and whether political violence is wrong, and how we should feel about Kirk getting assassinated, blah, blah, blah. It’s the right-wing media machine steering the narrative, which is something they are very good at!
Meanwhile, a bunch of leftist Gen Zers violently overthrew a government in Nepal. Political violence. Got results.
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. So, why the fuck are we stuck in this slowly boiling pot, instead of spending time watering that tree? The fact that none of the last 31 political attacks was from the left is a determent, not something to be proud of.
Lucky_777@lemmy.world 3 months ago
This is it. You can throw facts, studies, hell even show them in real time something. They don’t care. Their narrative is what they care about and their team is in power.
resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 3 months ago
It matters if they have any power over you.
They can be stupid on their own time and it wouldn’t matter if they have no power.
mhague@lemmy.world 3 months ago
‘Curated echo chamber’ is a great euphemism for a human brain.
