- Comment on How do you all keep the area around the toilet paper dust-free? 3 days ago:
You’re probably buying ultra soft fluffy cloud nothing but air toilet paper. You’re also probably not using a bidet.

Considering my website is being hit many times a day by hack attempts from bots running on google’s cloud platform I’m sure that’s part of it too. Anyone with a little money can apparently run a botnet off their servers.

FYI Dji has removed the geofences on their products. You may need to do a firmware update.

For what it’s worth, something like 1 in 4 adults have it. Most don’t even know.

I’m in the middle of a similar journey now and it has been eye opening. I’ve dreamed of living up in the mountains. In practice, it’s a huge pain in the ass! Narrow winding roads that take hours to drive just to get to the nearest anything! If I was living off the land with little need to venture out it might be ok, but I’m finding I’d prefer OP’s current situation. Far enough to have some peace and quiet but within reasonable reach to civilization.

Just wait and see what happens if the Big Stupid Bill passes. It’s got shit in there making it nearly impossible to regulate AI.

You can save any media you care about. And Signal can backup your chats if that history is important to you.

I’ve had windows update disabled for years so the fact that it’s “end of life” don’t mean shit to me. It’ll keep chugging along for years more.
That said, I installed Mint a week ago and love it!

This is why I always include a summary when I post an article. People don’t want to click away from whatever app is in front of them.

AliExpress in particular is terrible with however they’re going about language selection. I have had this happen countless times and I don’t even travel or use a VPN. Like it’s based on a merchant you viewed or some other nonsense.

Downvotes are not what I’m afraid of. I shouldn’t have to explain this to someone with your username.
- Comment on Why do so many people delete their posts? 4 weeks ago:
What I still post here is still genuine. I’m just biting my tongue about certain topics. No different than one would do while at work.
- Comment on Why do so many people delete their posts? 4 weeks ago:
It was with great pain that I recently deleted something like 50 to 100 of my own posts. They were all political. Lots of great discussions. But we live in a time where having the wrong kind of history on social media could make you a target either now or in the future. I’m sure a lot of that is still floating around one way or another but if I can reduce any spotlights on my ass it’s something I felt I had to do.
Since then I haven’t deleted anything. I try to keep my posts non-political. In my real life I am now focusing on bettering myself. I’ve given up on trying to change the country or anything like that. It can all they to ash. I’ve ran out of fucks to give.
But hey, I’m contributing on !loweffortmemes@crazypeople.online again, so there’s that.
- Comment on Why don't people like Melon Tusk get tired of the shit they gave you pull through literally every day ? I mean doesn't the guilt of bad decisions pull them down enough like the rest of us ? 4 weeks ago:
Some people may alter names and words to avoid retaIiation if/when the oIigarchs figure out how to scrap Iemmy for keywords in search for those who may oppose them. This is already happening on other pIatforms.
I don’t have a solution to this dilemma.
I will continue to protect myself in favor of assisting others to keep their heads in the sand.
