- Comment on Some people think that proprietary software for a 3d printer is a plus? 2 days ago:
I wouldn’t be surprised if these were laser wood cutters or something similar that have been converted after not selling. It is very strange to only have 200mm height on a purpose built 3d printer.

I heard Amazon wants to enter the market. I’m not sure that would be any better from an ethics standpoint but it’s something.
- Comment on StarLink reportedly down world wide 4 days ago:
Many people use StarLink because they’re not stationary.

Show me 20 people with 3D printers and I’ll show you 20 people with a bunch of spare nozzles on hand.

This is why many adult sites are banning access if your IP is from TN or any of the other american states that love jesus more than freedom.

So, the UK sucks.

Uber started this shit years ago. If you’re desperate, they screw you. You’re well off, they screw you. You’re in the middle of nowhere, they screw you. There’s a holiday/event, they screw you. You’re one of their drivers, they screw you daily.
I can’t recall if they ever got sued over it, but they’re still here.

Holy shit! I don’t recall them being on this impressive! This thing’s got like half a dozen levels of dept to it!

Are those still being made? I haven’t seen one in ages. But yeah I could see em.

At the pace China is going with renewables, this is already outdated. I’m not arguing coal isn’t still at the top but they’re making huge gains in an effort to change that.

This was my perception as well. Then I moved a couple states away and suddenly everything’s 24/7 like the old days. I suppose it’s regional.
- Comment on How do you all keep the area around the toilet paper dust-free? 3 weeks ago:
You’re probably buying ultra soft fluffy cloud nothing but air toilet paper. You’re also probably not using a bidet.
- Comment on Google’s electricity demand is skyrocketing 3 weeks ago:
Considering my website is being hit many times a day by hack attempts from bots running on google’s cloud platform I’m sure that’s part of it too. Anyone with a little money can apparently run a botnet off their servers.

FYI Dji has removed the geofences on their products. You may need to do a firmware update.

I’m in the middle of a similar journey now and it has been eye opening. I’ve dreamed of living up in the mountains. In practice, it’s a huge pain in the ass! Narrow winding roads that take hours to drive just to get to the nearest anything! If I was living off the land with little need to venture out it might be ok, but I’m finding I’d prefer OP’s current situation. Far enough to have some peace and quiet but within reasonable reach to civilization.
