Oh they meant CUbic Meter. 1 cubic meter = 1,000 liters. So they should have put 1250 kL or 1,250,000 L

The correct abbreviation for cubic meters is “m³”. Kiloliters are discouraged, and where I’m from “l” or “𝑙” is preferred to “L”.

Coming from an astronomy background, I can tell you that abso-fucking-lutely no one is going to use zettameters instead of kiloparsecs. If I tried to use that in a paper or talk people would think I was insane, and then demand I convert it to kPc.
And they would be right to do so since kPc is an immediately understandable distance (to astronomers). One parsec is roughly the distance between stars. So one kiloparsec tells me something is about 1000 star-distances across. Easy. I have no idea what a zettameter is. I like consistent rules as much as the next guy, but sometimes you have to make accommodations for things that are actually useful instead of the “strictly correct” option that is useful to no one.

It’s a suggested rule, which Nayuki knows are controversial. And I don’t 100% agree with her either, for example I prefer “𝑙” to “L”.

they used sqm as an example of ad hoc abbreviation, i was hoping to see cum, they had one job
ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.org 1 month ago
It’s more common, and as for badly abbreviated cubic units, “cc” (as in motor volume) takes the top spot (and is listed as deprecated, which I think is the lesser problem compared to not being written as cm^3^).

Fun fact: You may think “Tank-No2” means it’s the “number 2” tank. Nope. It’s actually the tank for November 2nd.

I’m impressed by their operational efficiency. Here they are, making it happen 365 days per year. Someone deserves a raise.

That’s the familiar receptive from when I tried to donate sperm.
They said I was a cancer risk though 😣 I hope they disposed of it properly.

I also donated at that location. It took me longer than usual because I’m a bit afraid of heights

I bet I should do an anxious wank there.

So this is where the lost gallons go

Its located in Allphandoor home of the allphaking. What people do there result in the contents of that tank. They do it a lot!

Slightly NSFW link still on YouTube still somehow: You only get a bucket and half

Whoever decided to abbreviate cubic meters into cum was one funny motherfucker. I appreciate their work everytime I’m stuck in traffic behind a truck hauling a shipping container.

First time I saw this, I needed a hot minute to understand what it’s supposed to mean.
