The baffled king composing a calendar…
Don’t do time, kids; it’s a slippery slope.
If you spend one second, you’ll suddenly find yourself spending another second, and another, and another… And before you know it, you’ve spent a whole minute. And when that’s enough, you start spending hours, days, weeks, years…
Lyrics from Leonard Cohen song Hallelujah. Don’t listen to it, it is the saddest song ever. You totally should though.
I know a lot of it is nostalgia speaking but I still hold that Jeff Buckley’s version is the best. I think he captures the emotion I feel perfectly in his voice.
I think Famous Blue Raincoat is sadder. The music is more desolate.
Not saddest, just worst.
It’s the LONGEST song ever. Folks were like “Hey Leonard, this song is great!” and he took that to mean “I should write some more verses”.
There is no setting where it is appropriate to play the entire full length song.
You can’t call a song long unless it hits the 10 minute mark imo.
Also its part of the genres tradition. It’s not like it’s bizzarely long for similar songs.
It’s a cold, and it’s a broken calenduyah.

Rhyming “do ya” and “hallelujah” has got to be one of the ballsiest plays in music history
