like sometimes i’ll see a woman at the store or talk to a woman and i’ll say “excuse me, sir”.
It’s a bit odd. Would you like to be called ma’am or miss if you were a guy?

ig no but i wouldn’t mind
By accident? Probably fine as long as it’s not a pattern.
On purpose? No, that’s shitty.
No, it’s not okay to intentionally attempt to misgender someone.
Why would you do that?
ST:V taught me that they prefer to be called “Captain”, but “ma’am” is acceptable in a crunch.
To use the wrong gender is derogatory, not recognizing the person you are talking to. Or at least most would probably consider it that way.
So the answer would obviously be a very strong no. At worst you may ruin someones day, at best you just look like an idiot.
What’s wrong with a simple “yo” as form of greeting or to interject yourself into their conversation?
I think most women would not appreciate it
I’d think you were blind.
is it ok to call a woman “sir”
Only if she asks you to.

Stop doing this.
Ok? Sure, who cares.
Sensical? Nope.
Down with segregated pronouns & bathrooms
Yes. If they want to be called sir.

Only if they’ve asked you to, are knighted, or are your superior officer
