Quite public too.

I think it used to be one of the original meanings of the word lol.

The only advice I have, as a non-therapist, is the same I’ve said to many in your shoes…
If you go now, you will miss the party. It will be a worldwide party, fireworms, etc, when Trump passes. It’s what keeps me going.
The memes will also be amazing for weeks.
You don’t want to miss the party!
- Comment on Microsoft kills official way to activate windows without internet 2 weeks ago:
This is the dumbest decision for one reason alone: some laptops and desktops that lack updated drivers cannot connect to the internet.
It literally happened to me with a lenovo laptop, where I had to find a way to bypass the internet requirement or else I’d have a $800 paperweight.
If I didn’t need Windows for a specific reason I’d be on Linux, believe me. But this decision is ridiculous.

The only reason not to kill baby Hitler is because his administration was somewhat incompetent… Someone far more skilled could rise up if he isn’t the one to do it and commit even more atrocities.
Otherwise, baby hitler getting thrown off the building. Every time.

Unfortunately this is how fascism starts.
We can fix the system, but instead fascists use the excuse of poverty or a broken system to gain power.

Same. Sometimes IronWolf breaks pages but otherwise it’s a good option.

On Linux, Falkon and Gnome Web are based on WebKit. Windows and Linux, Cromite, LibreWolf, and Floorp are great options without any garbage AI.
For android, Cromite and Fennec are good options, but the pickings are slim overall.

Opera neon is a bullshit AI browser based on chromium.
Orion is different, but just enough. It’s based on Apple’s WebKit. And it’s only on apple devices, unfortunately.
Comet is by far the worst option you mentioned. It’s made by perplexity AI so is bound to be data-guzzling. Awful idea. Plus, it’s just Chromium again.
Some actual challenges are coming, but they’re still in pre-alpha. Ladybird and Servo, I think.
- Comment on YSK that you can/should budget yearly for long term purchases 3 weeks ago:
And most people making that advice don’t really understand that more and more people each year can’t even budget buying their own medication or even decent food to cook with.
- Comment on You have ceo potential (derogative) 3 weeks ago:
Jokes aside, I already have so many society-building projects in mind I’d run if I had money. Stuff the government should be doing.
- Comment on You have ceo potential (derogative) 3 weeks ago:
How dare you. I’ll have you know I work more than 5 hours a week and make very little, thank you very much.
- Comment on YSK: The pulled *60 Minutes* CECOT segment aired in Canada and is available online 3 weeks ago:
Absolutely for political reasons. Anyone who thought Bari Weiss was not going to ruin CBS news is an idiot. She’s a right wing grifter conservatives love to pretend is a centrist.

Librewolf will remain AI free. I think I’ll take that one.
For mobile, we’ll see… I guess maybe Fennec if they keep AI off of it.
- Comment on Larian CEO Responds to Divinity Gen AI Backlash: 'We Are Neither Releasing a Game With Any AI Components, Nor Are We Looking at Trimming Down Teams to Replace Them With AI' 4 weeks ago:
I was saying that as well.
I get the knee jerk reaction because everything has been so horrible everywhere lately with AI, but they’re actually one of the few companies using it right.

- Comment on Earth needs more energy. Atlanta’s Super Soaker creator may have a solution. 5 weeks ago:
We’ve had electric car in a major capacity since the late 2010s, why is it all of a sudden this big problem?
AI is a major energy consumer, requiring their own damn nuclear reactors.
- Comment on Earth needs more energy. Atlanta’s Super Soaker creator may have a solution. 5 weeks ago:
Only if we want more AI. And we don’t.

It also confirms what we already thought: these f***bucket big studios already think of gaming as a cheap product to generate money, not as a piece of art and enjoyment in its own right.
