Christianity needs to be classified as a mental disorder. Like any superstition with rules.

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
It’s one of the reasons why I like edibles.

more like they need to read the bible, most of them are in televangelical churches.

The Bible is a collection of random manuscripts that men long ago decided were “holy” enough. On top of that, there is no “bible.” Almost every sect of Christianity has different forms of this Bible, some involving different included or excluded scripts, and numerous varying translations or rewrites.
Has always been astonishing to me how many Christians believe their Bible is the only one. They get in their little echo chambers and just assume their experience is what everyone else experiences. I’ve seen this ignorance also translate to non-religious topics as well. They just assume their world view is THE world view.
Fuck religion. But especially fuck general Christianity. It self-selects the narcissist looking for an excuse book to wave a magic wand and be absolve of their shittyness.
Just FYI this comment comes from a childhood of abuse followed by “I’ll only need to answer to God.”

Isn’t that a part of Rastafari?
Clinicallydepressedpoochie@lemmy.world 3 days ago
What, you got a problem with rastafar
Aggravationstation@feddit.uk 3 days ago
Why would you take that away from my comment? I meant Rastafari is derived from Christianity and uses weed in groundings which is the closest parallel to the sacrament in other Christian sects.

I don’t get this.
Seriously, enlighten me.
The whole point, unless I’m wrong, of Christianity, is to follow the laws of a book.
The same book that talks about women basically being property, killing gay people, and so many other things.
I have a hard time with it. Others have told me it’s like you pick and choose but that doesn’t make sense to me. You are picking a belief, a philosophy, a path. And that whole theme is riddled with bad things along with the good.

I’m my experience, Christians don’t actually pay attention to the book

Or confuse it with Faust. 🙄

No. The whole point is a relationship with God. The reason we read the Bible is to learn more about God. The Bible isn’t an instruction manual, it’s a biography of God and his people.
rockerface@lemm.ee 3 days ago
If that’s the case, God and his people has done some pretty heinous shit.

Just joking round

Although it’s not quite a sacrament, at least there are several Christian denominations that have official policies in support of medical cannabis.

Weed isn’t legal everywhere anyway, even just inside the us let alone outside of that hell hole

What did you think the burning bush was all about 🙃
stephen@lemmy.today 3 days ago
It was actually a mistranslation. The original Hebrew can also be translated as “burning kush.”

There would probably be a few less wars too.

Peyote
naeap@sopuli.xyz 3 days ago
As far as I know, Peyote is only home in the Americas
How could that be the reason of the burning bush in the middle east?
I would put stuff like ergot in the ring, as it would add up with with bread and farming focused civilisations
