  i love ff9 but i think part of what made ff9 so good was the art style. as much as i like remake and rebirth, i hope a ff9 remake won’t by in the same style.

  honestly, i’d much rather a remake/rebirth style remake of ff8 first since it would work so much better.

    Have you seen Memoria Project? That did an incredible job of updating the first few areas of the game but keeping the art style intact.

    I’m in full agreement that IX shouldn’t get the FF7R treatment. It would lose all of its charm.

  FFIX is my favourite FF game (yeah, fight me on it), which means this news is either very good or very bad depending on how the remake ends up.

  Good point, haven’t played 7 remake yet, but seeing how 6 is made with 20 pixels, and it has the potential for such amazing scenes and cc areas…

    Honestly, I can’t imagine square not fucking up 6. 9 seems easier to adapt.

    I’m rather have an octopath style remake of 6 than a FFVII remake one.

  Was a big fan of Secret of Mana (1 and 2), Secret of Evermore and different Zelda games. I tried to force me into playing FF, because it looked promising, but I can’t stand the role-play battle mechanics.

    So you don’t like turn based games? Unless I’m misunderstanding

    You might like FF7 Remake, the combat is sort of a hybrid where it’s mostly realtime but you can give commands via a turn menu mid combat too
