Just FYI, that capitalism curve should be a lot steeper towards the end and lower most of the way.

It’s logscale. You can tell by the height of oligarchy.

Oh good I was remembering that video but couldn’t find it.

Two edits: the capitalism exponential curve should be much sharper.

And the Trump graph maybe should have an “El Salvador prison” section on the left side.

To scale, the 2nd and 3rd graphs would look identical

They would if Trump and Musk weren’t erasing the wealth.

        Yup, better said.

Yeah that capitalism curve needs to start at 0 and stay there for a bit

      source
      • gabbath@lemmy.world ⁨1⁩ ⁨month⁩ ago

Until the 80% percentile if I recall. Not at 0 but under the poverty line.

It really should use a vertical line from 0 to 5 as a way to represent the welfare cliff, too.

If every company would transition successfully towards a worker cooperative federation like Mondragon in Spain, oligarchs wouldnt exist

(enlighten me and my ignorance please, always eager to get new insight. especially on topics like these, that arent my main focus)

Mondragon was founded by a humanist and ingrained the company with a set of core virtues. I think most companies wouldn’t be able to transition so radically.

I learned about Mondragon from your comment, they seem to do great work! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mondragon_Corporation

Survival of the fittest, I wouldn’t mind tossee them lose fat with given head up of transitioning deadlines.

Aren’t adaptability and all those buzz words what corpos mafias always brag about :D

If society would see that as the goal of every company and to do so in a way that doesn’t discourage investment I suspect things might be better ovv

Not entirely sure how to interpret OP’s libel of communism, but the scales have been an astronomical cliff by a looong time.

You know what you must do “conservatives.” Time to reclaim your rights to bear arms.

      libel of communism

As a leftist, I mean, they’re not wrong. At least historically.

That doesn’t mean socialist policies aren’t better, it doesn’t mean communism is literally impossible, it just means that our species has a lot of work ahead still. Planting trees we will never sit in the shade of and all that.

      • leftytighty@slrpnk.net ⁨1⁩ ⁨month⁩ ago

As a leftist you should understand that it’s insincere to compare implementations of communism to the core inextricable functions of capitalism. Bad implementations of communism have wealth disparity, all implementations of capitalism have wealth disparity.

Not in Chile. Either way, I can’t interpret OP’s graph, since communism doesn’t have wealth to begin with.

And that idiom needs to die. We are not surviving a sahara, tree exist right now. We just need to guillotine the plutos at the top.

This is just a question. Are there people here that really believe communism is better than capitalism? If so can you explain to me why and can you give me an example of A communist country that has prospered
