That’s exactly how I handle my five month baby, just with more screaming and pooping.
I love you

Mostly.

You say pets but that can’t be a cat, as it would fuck you up. If they don’t want to be held, they’ll slice you.

You underestimate the dedication of my love

I have a cat that isn’t into sitting on laps, but also doesn’t realize he has claws. My MIL snuggles him when she visits no matter how much he wiggles and squirms - he’s never scratched any of us in the 7 years we’ve had him so far. Don’t worry, she only holds him for 5-10 seconds and then lets him scurry away.

He’s just a pawsifist

You just gotta squish that cat

I would pull my childhood cats tail when I was like 2-3 and from what I hear she was very clearly incredibly displeased but didn’t even particularly try to get away.
I miss her even though she’s been gone a long time.

I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. My brother has 2 dogs. The one pet that loves me the most is my brothers dog. He doesn’t libe with me, he was the only one that never have, but this dog will cling himself on me like the human of this meme. He is a labrador and he will jump ony lap and keep looking at me. If I play with my nieces (that were born beside him) he will try taking them away and getting the attention all for him.

When I got my dog at the shelter, they told me two things about him:
-
He liked to eat garbage.
-
He liked being held like a baby.
He was a good size for it too, about 30 lbs. Big enough for a real hug, but not too heavy to lift comfortably. He would press his neck against mine when I held him - I think that was the way he reciprocated. The funny thing is that he was jealous about my hugs. If I hugged another person, he would whine, stand on his hind legs, and try to push that person away from me with his front legs.

Sounds like an amazing dog. 13/10, would hold like a baby.

There are three types of pet owners:
- Those who respect their pets’ boundaries
- Those who squeeze their pets who are clearly hating it and fighting back
- Those who squeeze their pets who clearly hate it until the pets’ will is broken and they resign themselves that they’re going to get hugged sometimes and it’s okay
The first and third groupings I can get down with.

Our cat allows it for a good 10 seconds before letting me know he wants to be released. It used to be 5 seconds so we’re making progress.

Why are you down with #3 but not #2? The way I’m reading it, #2 necessarily has to happen before #3

Works on bitches too, unless they call the cops. Maybe bitches should be feared and respected.
