Why politicians should not own stocks
Everyone should be mad about this shit. Everyone.
Because rich politicians.
Honestly, I don’t know. It feels like the US has very much stopped investigating political and corporate corruption, at least with any meaningful repercussions.
I’m a democrat and get tired of this woman prancing around doing whatever the fuck she wants. Why can congress, or close family, even be allowed to own stock? Of course this bullshit will keep happening and nothing will be done about it.
It happened 3 months before and Republicans always beat her
They still shouldn’t be trading individual stocks, whether they have inside information or not.
Exactly. This isn’t as much about Nancy as it is about politicians abusing their power.
What would you think about their holdings and trades being allowed, but having to be public?
If jimmy carter sold his peanut farm so there wouldn’t be any self interest optics while he was president, these congressmen can wait it out until they are no longer serving the public interest
Is anyone surprised anymore? Wasn’t she the one who didn’t let a bill, that prevent them from investing, from passing? Politicians don’t care anymore. They do illegal things in plain site because they know people won’t do shit. Bitch has been getting re-elected since 1676
I’ll be surprised when they start talking about all the Republicans that beat her every year
Bitch has been getting re-elected since 1676
This made me really laugh out loud.
I admit I use to see it as a non-issue but my opinion has changed. Politicians should not own individual stocks.
Illegalize congressman owning stocks
agreed. This shouldn’t even be partisan.
It’s not?
I don’t often side with violent home intruders, but I wish him and his witch would’ve had their brains bashed out by that hammer guy.
How would that have fixed anything? The Pelosis are not the only members of Congress who are unchallenged for insider trading.
The laws are there. The problem is the nutless SEC.
Oh lookie a violent magat wishing death on political opponents.
This is what fascism looks like, to the fucking letter.
Kind of inspiring to see our normal downvote brigades find an issue we can agree on.
Let’s join force on this issue.
Aoc and gaetz are working on a bill against this. That’s this weirdest super hero team but let it happen
Nah.

The sale was on July 1–almost 3 months ago— and the price was lower than on the day the lawsuit was announced.

Are you the only one in here who bothered to look? I saw your comment and decided to look, too, and unless I’m reading this wrong, you’re right and I don’t understand the point of this story.

Discussed Republican propaganda, there hasn’t been a year where Pelosi was number one since prior started keeping an eye on her moves and she’s always getting beat by a bunch of Republicans no one cares about.

I believed these stories for a long time until I learned that Nancy Pelosi did not outperform the S&P.

Republicans are obsessed with pelosi owning stocks as if she’s the only person in Congress who does it. I guess it takes the heat of everyone else… I read a list of the top 10 stock owners and profit makers in Congress, one of course the top ones were republicans.

The point is to make people angry.

Also, if you were paying any attention to Visa as an investor it has been obvious for awhile now that the company is underperforming.
