I wish they would focus on the companies and the illegal aliens. It seems weird to just focus on the people lured by work. The companies are also the villains here.

So you think Bernie Sanders is a liar, along with the polls?

I as Latinos realize they don’t share the same values as progressives, you’ll see more of a switch. The Latinos in my family voted Democrat because of unions. Now that the democrats have abandoned the unions, why wouldn’t they vote Republican?

If I remember correctly. W doesn’t like Trump. I think he’d get along with Vance.

they feel like they have been told to just shut up when they have complained about the things that are hurting them in their own lives.”
They were told they were racist, sexiest, garbage, etc.
The average American isn’t into gender or racial politics. They just want to raise their kids, have a vacation, etc. Most people are not overly political and when you make their life politics, they rebel

What is hysterical is Silver was telling him he was wrong and his bias was showing. That is the problem is when you let you bias influence your model.
Silver said this was a toss up. Looking at the polls before the election I would agree. Based on the results, this was not a tossup. This was Trump crushing the democrats. I am still looking at number but he appears to have grown in every state.

We do our best. Lemmy is a hive mind of silliness at times. Not sure how most of these people function outside of their bubble.

I don’t care who you vote for, but I do care that you vote. Get out and vote. Well, technically, it’s too late now, but for future elections, get out and vote. Everyone that is eligible to vote, should vote.

He is actually much better than I expected. It’s not over yet, but it isn’t looking good for Kamala.
They’re already saying it’s because America is racist and because she’s a woman.
The real reason is she wasn’t a good choice. She was one of the worst choices they could have picked

It’s just a tradition. People put to much weight in it.
Trump last time and conceded a few days later. He just didn’t use those exact words.
Sounds like you are into traditions. That’s very conservative of you

Historically the betting odds were fairly accurate. This year they’ve been muddled with. Trump may win but it’s not tied to the betting odds

Agreed. The Democrats have always been a much more violent group.

There is no requirement to concede; it’s nothing more than a tradition. Trump conceding or not conceding won’t change who wins the election.

- Comment on National Climate, Polling Points to a Trump Victory 2 weeks ago:
A primary would have been good. I think it’s why many people are not overly excited over Harris. Many of my family members are democrats and they are not thrilled about Harris. They felt she was pushed in rather than earning the spot. A primary would change that view.
They’re still voting for her I suspect but they’re not happy about it.
- Comment on National Climate, Polling Points to a Trump Victory 2 weeks ago:
Not sure why you think the winner will get 310. It could happen but I suspect this will be around the 270 range. Nobody is expecting anyone to wipe the board.
- Comment on National Climate, Polling Points to a Trump Victory 2 weeks ago:
Look at the polls. She wasn’t well know and not very liked.
- Comment on National Climate, Polling Points to a Trump Victory 2 weeks ago:
You only need 270 to win.
- Comment on National Climate, Polling Points to a Trump Victory 2 weeks ago:
I think election is close as hell. Obviously I am voting for Trump but I think the Democrats screwed themselves by running Kamala.
If they had wanted to win, they would have picked someone who leaned more right and was known.
If Trump wins, the Democrats only have themselves to blame.

- Comment on It's Close, But the Signs Aren't Good for Harris 3 weeks ago:
It is not certain Trump is going to win but it is looking good for him.
The Democrats could have easily won this election but for some reason they decided to run Harris. A wildly unpopular candidate who wasn’t selected by the proper process.
In the past few months she has done little to sway the average persons opinion. She has focused on talking about Trump instead of her policies. That was a major mistake. She should have focused on her policies and her plans. Instead she focused on Trump who is disliked but has been in the spotlight for years. People know everything they need to make a decision about Trump but little about Harris.
If she loses, this is going to be talked about for a long time as how NOT to run a campaign. She did everything to put Trump into power if she loses but running such an odd ball campaign.
You can watch her missteps and how they impacted her. The first debate against Trump, she didn’t gain the pulls. Why? She focused on Trump instead of letting the voters know who she is and her policies.
The Walz-Vance debate. Walz was severally overmatched by Vance. They should have skipped that debate. It showed people what Kamala and Harris were missing. Vance talked policies, he did it in an articulate way. He owned that debate but also showed Walz respect which helped people relate to Vance.
The media has tried to paint Kamala as something she isn’t and that people have noticed. She isn’t dumb at all. Kamala is a smart woman but she listened to really bad advice.
