I see, interesting. Thanks for doing the research.
- Comment on Pensioner robbed of $1,338 is taking NAB to court for millions 3 days ago:
Is this math based on any logic within the law? Typically you should just sue for the damages you sustained + costs, I don’t see how the fact that the bank has a lot of money would change that, unless there’s some kind of law prescribing this?
- Comment on We are living in the Pre-"Drone 9/11" era. 3 days ago:
You need compact explosives to effectively deliver by drone. The attacks you mentioned will typically use the homemade stuff that use fertiliser and is less compact (which is easier to deliver by van, as shown by Breivik and the guy that did the Oklahoma bombing).

Is he even trying to escape them? He’s been pretty clear about his opinions on Jews and the like.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 week ago:
Really depends on what data it is and whether you want to search it regularly or just as a one time thing.
You could load them into an rdbms (MySQL/Postgres) and have it handle the indexing, or use python tools to process the files.
If it’s just a one time thing grep is probably fine tho.
- Comment on NSW to ban people from appealing if working with children check denied 1 week ago:
I mean, they ran through a bunch of terror laws based on the explosive caravan hoax, and nobody’s talking about repealing those despite that.
For the child care stuff, the only things that I’ve heard that make sense are exchanging information between states so someone can’t just hop over the border to continue working with children (something proposed a decade ago after a previous royal commission), and having 2 pairs of eyes on the kids at any time. Everything else seems counterproductive.
- Comment on PNG has been updated for the first time in 22 years — new spec supports HDR and animation 2 weeks ago:
I mean, on a Linux system that’s not riddled with flatpak / snap / … You’d basically only need to update libpng and you’d be good.
- Comment on Israel | Settlers attempt to break into army base after 14-year-old possibly shot by IDF 2 weeks ago:
I’m convinced the majority of civilian deaths on Oct 7 were also caused by the IDF. There’s the tank that shot a house full of hostages, and the Apaches obliterating basically every car that tried to leave the Nova festival.
- Comment on Israel | Settlers attempt to break into army base after 14-year-old possibly shot by IDF 2 weeks ago:
Yep, apparently ‘the air’ is code for ‘a Palestinian’ if used in the context of shooting at something. In Gaza they’re killing scores of people at food distribution sites with ‘warning shots’.
- Comment on IDF soldiers ordered to shoot deliberately at unarmed Gazans waiting for humanitarian aid 2 weeks ago:
It was clear that that was happening, but it’s a good thing soldiers themselves are coming forward and confirming it.

Because she was always a grifter.

Well, she now claims that that’s not what she said.
- Comment on BYD is testing solid-state EV batteries in its Seal sedan with nearly 1,200 miles of range 3 weeks ago:
Yeah, I still have the ICE car because when I bought it I wasn’t in a position to charge at home, and electric cars were expensive ( like $100k+ fora second hand Model S).
But yeah, now I have a garage and there’s a ton of affordable cars coming out of China.
- Comment on BYD is testing solid-state EV batteries in its Seal sedan with nearly 1,200 miles of range 3 weeks ago:
Yeah, I currently still have a petrol car, but I feel like an electric car would work out better with my current usage. I basically never do long trips, so every month or so I have to go out of my way to fill it up. If I had an electric car I could just plug it in at home, and if I was feeling fancy I could even set the charger up to only charge with excess solar so it would be completely free.
And finding a charger on a long trip and stretching your legs for about 20 minutes definitely seems better than stopping at a stinky petrol station.
- Comment on Operation Narnia: Iran’s nuclear scientists reportedly killed simultaneously using special weapon 3 weeks ago:
Yeah, that’s definitely true for imperialist countries like Israel, the US and Russia.
- Comment on Operation Narnia: Iran’s nuclear scientists reportedly killed simultaneously using special weapon 3 weeks ago:
I mean, that’s not really surprising. Every military makes plans for any contingency, and Israel especially has always been paranoid about Iran’s nuclear programme, so of course they would make sure they’re tracking the scientists in case they needed to make a move.
The disgusting part is them just pulling the trigger for political reasons instead of actual intelligence that indicates a breakout.
- Comment on BYD is testing solid-state EV batteries in its Seal sedan with nearly 1,200 miles of range 3 weeks ago:
The existing range was already good enough for most. I feel like you could read this as they could build a car with the same range with only half the battery pack, which saves on cost and weight.
- Comment on BYD is testing solid-state EV batteries in its Seal sedan with nearly 1,200 miles of range 3 weeks ago:
Most people charge at home anyway, you only really need high voltage chargers along major roads.
- Comment on After Obliterating Gaza's Healthcare System, Israeli Leaders Call Iran Hospital Attack a 'War Crime' 3 weeks ago:
It’s always a war crime. People will argue that’s exceptions (Hamas tunnels, etc), but those conditions are never met in reality.
- Comment on After Obliterating Gaza's Healthcare System, Israeli Leaders Call Iran Hospital Attack a 'War Crime' 3 weeks ago:
Russia bombed plenty of hospitals as well, and that was widely condemned. The only countries that are allowed to bomb hospitals are the US and Israel.
- Comment on I Tried Pre-Ordering the Trump Phone. The Page Failed and It Charged My Credit Card the Wrong Amount 4 weeks ago:
Usually he’s not even involved in running the business, they’re licensing deals where some scammer pays a few million up front to use the Trump name, which is then used to scam his followers.
- Comment on YSK: Non-violent protests are 2x likely to succeed and no non-violent movement that has involved more than 3.5% of the country population has ever failed 4 weeks ago:
Sure, everyone else is wrong, and you’re right even when you’re seemingly deliberately misreading everything. If you’re not trolling, you should probably get yourself checked.
- Comment on YSK: Non-violent protests are 2x likely to succeed and no non-violent movement that has involved more than 3.5% of the country population has ever failed 4 weeks ago:
The protests didn’t do anything to that, it was the insurgency causing a steady supply of body bags to come back.
- Comment on YSK: Non-violent protests are 2x likely to succeed and no non-violent movement that has involved more than 3.5% of the country population has ever failed 4 weeks ago:
Which wasn’t the case before the invasion, when there were 0 US troops. Why the fuck do you bring up current day when I’m talking about protests that happened over 20 years ago (by people who knew the current outcome was likely)?
- Comment on YSK: Non-violent protests are 2x likely to succeed and no non-violent movement that has involved more than 3.5% of the country population has ever failed 4 weeks ago:
And the number there should be is 0, I’m really not sure what point you’re trying to make here. People didn’t want a war in Iraq in 2003, there were mass peaceful protests, and yet it still happened.
- Comment on YSK: Non-violent protests are 2x likely to succeed and no non-violent movement that has involved more than 3.5% of the country population has ever failed 4 weeks ago:
The USA actually still had troops in Iraq, Syria, Jordan, etc. And the protests were to prevent an invasion from happening in the first place, not to go in, kill a million people and then 2 decades down the line throw up your hands and say ‘that was a mistake’ with no consequences for anyone that pushed for it.
- Comment on YSK: Non-violent protests are 2x likely to succeed and no non-violent movement that has involved more than 3.5% of the country population has ever failed 4 weeks ago:
Yeah, look at the Iraq war protests, they didn’t amount to anything because they were peaceful and easily ignored by the media.

Yeah, that was close enough to kill. She might have internal bleeding for all we know.
- Comment on Shooting an unarmed woman who was just trying to walk home: just LAPD things 5 weeks ago:
No cop has ever been held accountable for whatever bullshit they pull when they’re in riot gear. They’re basically anonymous and the worst that will happen is a civil settlement with the city (which won’t even come out of the police budget!).
