MehBlah@lemmy.world 6 months agoI was eating lunch when I watched it. I’m fine. I have empathy when I step on a bug. Not for hateful people like that though.
I was just thinking about that. Someone will whine about empathy sooner or later and I’ve come up with what I think is a pretty good response, feel free to use it if you agree.
I’ve been putting up with their hateful shit for most of my life, exactly how many years of that are required before I’m allowed to have an empty empathy tank for them?
A friend is aghast at how I can react the way I do. My response is “do you think these ‘just opinions’ exist in a void?”

yeah that was…very not gruesome? i’ve seen people hype it up but, like, that was nothing? unless you’re afraid of blood i guess. most death i’ve seen in my life was way worse.
