- Comment on [Discussion] What anime tend to make you cry? 1 hour ago:
Endings can kinda get to me. Not the end of a show necessarily, but the end of a story. It often happens at the end of a show, but not always. The best example that comes to mind is actually a video game called Season letters to Tomorrow (or something like that). Without spoilers you leave your home and it’s as sad as it is uplifting, and then you document the last day of a town before it’s destroyed. There are other endings that you get to document too, big and small, and all of them are framed as emotionally complex.
I think I’m just a nostalgic person, because ancient ruins and stories in that context also get me. Girls front line was sad long before the ending! Maybe it’s because i was born in the late 90s and i saw the world getting better before it started getting worse.

Yay the scam game can be indefinitely playable!
I seriously can’t tell if these guys are scammers or just incredibly dumb.

I’m still waiting for that perfect creature catching game, but palworld can definitely tide me over for now, very fun game. Although i recommend not flying unless you absolutely need to.

Good to know people didn’t buy from the usurper
- Comment on Japan to use ODA to help Vietnam, other nations curb manga, anime piracy 2 weeks ago:
They like to claim that 40% of pirates would actually be paying customers if not for piracy. I know the number comes from an EU study, but i also know the number is insane bullshit. No way can they actually study that effectively and no way does it translate from the very narrow context (blockbuster movies, which makes the study even more ludicrous as big name movies usually suck) into a wider context.
- Comment on Valve aren't putting any exclusives on the Steam Machine because they see "the whole PC catalog as our 'launch exclusive'" 2 weeks ago:
I’m fairly certain all business degrees or official training is just to indoctrinate the people likely to be in charge later. Capitalism as we know it now wouldn’t survive if any ‘next generation’ ever realized how fucking stupid this all is.
- Comment on With Dragon's Dogma 2's new infinite fast travel, Dark Arisen's director wants you to know they're "not forcing" you to use it 2 weeks ago:
Well, duh. It still kinda undermines what the gameplay seems to be about, though.

It doesn’t? Even if you want to make the false equivalence of loli and pedophilia, it’s still portrayed as wrong at every turn from what i remember.

Like, half of those are not forgotten at all, and another half are in the otaku canon that everyone needs to learn about. This is like going up to your gamer friend and talking about that cool obscure title you found called Skyrim.

Looks like a game we’ll have to pirate, unless they ever release it in the pc for real.

- Comment on Classic dubs seemed so much better. Now most dubs seem unwatchable 2 months ago:
Dubs have always sucked, still do too. Fansubs specifically are where the true experience is, they are of much higher quality (or at least used to be).
- Comment on Look back at old photos to see how full of life and hope you once were 2 months ago:
Realistically less than a quarter of people need to work (assuming our modern standards for time and tech and consumerism, we should clearly spread that work out to more than just those few people and improve our culture), tops. The rest is busy work to keep people down and desperate.
- Comment on Ubisoft propose cutting up to 200 jobs at Paris headquarters, as unions reportedly agree three day strike 5 months ago:
The reason Ubisoft is failing miserably is because the executive are incompetent. If they cared about profit they’d fire everyone above, like, game director and start again.

Obviously it was always going to fail, the more you abstract away ownership the less people will be interested in buying.
