To be fair, what even is the fucking point of reporting it anymore? We saw what ended up happening with covid, where even otherwise right-minded people started having tantrums about masks and vaccines. The vast majority of people are not going to take precautions with a new pandemic, I half expect the right wingers to start deliberately sneezing in each others faces and asking if we’re triggered by it. We’re screwed if another pandemic happens, and reporting on it won’t even remotely change that, as a species overall we just be too stupid to survive

Yes, when I visited the USA during COVID people actively got into my face and coughed at my face. Intentionally, to be clear.
This was out in public in places like supermarkets.
Absolutely abhorrent people. I’m glad I’m back in Europe for the next pandemic, much safer.

I can’t speak for Europe proper (relatively sane Europe), here in the UK I fully expect most of that same kind of behaviour. Probably not to the same extent as the US but it’ll be bad

I would at least like to know if it’s a problem so I can take appropriate personal precautions. Sure I don’t need a running death count every day like we had during Covid but just like “this thing is out there, here’s what you can do”
