- Comment on 'Buy one, get one free' deals for unhealthy food banned in supermarkets 6 days ago:
For me, someone who has struggled with stress eating (often with junk food), the price increases with the junk food items alongside less and less multi buy promotions for them have been encouraging me to eat better, make my own food etc.
I am not blaming the availability of these unhealthy items as the biggest issue, and I acknowledge it’s an internal situation more than anything, yet these initiatives have been a welcomed push to get me in the right direction.
It’s just a good influence. - Comment on What's the most offensive word I can use that isn't a slur? 6 days ago:

It’s quite satisfying. I grew a very colourful cultivar this time around, and I’m sampling it right now (Blood Diamonds 2.0).
Once you have things dialed in, environment wise, there is great benefit in being able to choose genetics (be wise to find reputable breeders however, and steer clear of white label seeds as well).
There are just so many flavours and variations people growing for an illegal market do not have the patience for. I mean I had to push these until 11 weeks in flower until they were ripe enough to chop! Well worth it though, and I recommend anyone in the position to try it to give growing a shot. - Comment on How could I order a package without my parents finding it? 1 week ago:
If you are not in a position to do it properly, it’s not worth doing over just buying weed.
It’s not just about yield, even if you’re comfortable with a very low yielding harvest, but your quality will suffer and the genetics will not reach their full potential without the right things.
The CFLs don’t have enough of a broad spectrum to support a lot of good growth, and you’ll end up with low quality results with a low yield. Not to mention any tent is likely to make some noise, from the extraction fan and a fan for circulating air around, and even with an extraction fan for good bud if you’re trimming outside of the tent it WILL stink up your house something fierce.
Not to mention your parents would get suspicious of the constant visits to your room, as your learning to maintain good VPD etc.Airflow being important if you don’t want mold.
Anyone can grow weed, but it takes some effort to grow good weed. It would be wise to consider this once you have your own place to do so, it’s worth the wait and you can easily pull 3-4+ ounces per plant (in dry weight) under a 200w LED with the right gear, but the CFLs will be weaker and probably net you under an ounce in dry weight.
- Comment on How often do guys have a haircut? 3 weeks ago:
Depends on the style I’m going for, when my depression isn’t an issue anyway.
In recent years, every month or every 2-3 weeks if I want to appear more groomed. I’ll be getting another mohawk (I used to be a fan of them) this year, which would require shaving the sides every two days.
- Comment on "Very dramatic shift" - Linus Tech Tips opens up about the channel's declining viewership 4 weeks ago:
What I’ve noticed is YouTube recommending me more obscure videos, from very small creators.
I very much appreciate whatever they’re doing, regardless of how these bigger channels are being hit by it. Yesterday I got recommended a video by an elderly woman, showing a mug warmer she bought. It was very sweet, had less than 30 views and it was a lovely contrast to the flashy, over edited videos stretching a paragraph to 10+ minutes.
Not saying the big channels are bad, I just personally like the small time channels and appreciate that YouTube has been (at least with the algorithm it has set for me) giving these small channels a shot at getting an audience.
I’ve connected with a lot of people from smaller channels, joined communities etc. yet this is much more difficult with the larger ones (in some I’ve been to, over the years, the chatrooms they set up are so huge the moderation sometimes just gives up or doesn’t even exist in any practical way). - Comment on Spotifies come and Spotifies go, but that folder of badly-sorted MP3s will still be there in the 2050s. 1 month ago:

You also need to be a bit more socially aware.
I’ve had many people tell me I’m attractive, yet at the same time I turned down coffee because it was the evening and I was trying to watch my caffeine intake. During my late school years someone sat next to me as I was eating Lucky Charms with chocolate milk, and said she loves chocolate after sex. My reaction? “Oh, I can only imagine! I quite like the combination with the marshmallows, as they absorb some of the taste. You see…”
Just a couple examples, though honestly it would be nice to have some sort of guidebook on these things. I swear I’ve missed a million and a half opportunities, only to be woken up from my sleep a year later all “MOTHERFUCKER”. - Comment on How abnormal is it for a mother to be her son a fleshlight for his 18th birthday? 2 months ago:

There’s definitely a synergistic effect with the two, however the exact effect could vary. For myself it provides a quicker onset to the effects of weed, whilst maintaining the functional aspect of the coffee quite well.

I’ve had genuine landrace Durban Poison, a 100% sativa, and it was pretty nice and sociable. I have grown a strain called Zombie Death Fuck, with OG origins, and it smacks me in the face. It’s all about the genetics.

- Comment on YouTube's new ad strategy is bound to upset users: YouTube Peak Points utilise Gemini to identify moments where users will be most engaged, so advertisers can place ads at the point. 4 months ago:
You’re right in that you’d have to install an APK, from outside of the Play Store, however if you’re aware of the right sources of the right apps your security should be fine (you can disable the ability to install apps from unknown sources after you’ve got the YouTube alternative app, without affecting it, if you’re worried about that).
There are a few steps, which are usually straight forward, listed here: github.com/yuliskov/SmartTube
If you follow that link it should have further links for an installation tutorial (they also link a YouTube tutorial to make things easier).
If you do go down that route, it’s a much more pleasant experience imho. No ads, Sponsorblock for in-video ad segments, complete control over quality of video, audio, options to manually force specific codecs, etc.
