This is why you dry the ice cream first.

Beauty is also within the eye of the beholder, many forget this.
My first proper boyfriend was very attractive to me, because he resembled Jarvis from Pulp. Not everyone’s cup of tea, yet I found that look very attractive.

- Comment on How do you ask for a haircut? 2 months ago:
Describe it however you want. If you have a decent barber, they should understand you fine and work with you.
I’ve been shy, straight forward, and all manners of sides when asking for a haircut and the biggest issue has only been the occasional language barrier.Once you’re comfortable in a style it’ll be easier to use different wording, depending on how you want your style. For example: you most certainly can ask for clipper sizes, like “no. 2 on sides”, however if you don’t know what you want from the top you could just ask them “a bit short but matching the sides, if you know what I mean?”
Some styles have different options, such as skin fades (usually medium or high here, indicating the point where the fade reaches on the side and back of the head). If you’re unsure definitely do not be afraid of asking, if any barber has an issue with working with you they aren’t the barbers you want as they’re likely to rush the haircut regardless of what you say (in my experience), or only know limited styles/lack broader experience in hairdressing.
- Comment on E Ink faces growing competition in the "paper-like" display space - Liliputing 2 months ago:
This article has completely missed a selling point of e-readers for people like myself: no constant refreshing.
My eye strain, when reading for a long time, doesn’t come from the light (or lack thereof), which is evident as a positive of backlit Kindles and other e-readers, though the constant flicker of screens. E-ink solves this issue perfectly, and with every device in that article mentioning “60Hz” on their alternatives I feel as though they’ve missed a big point of having an e-reader and what exactly constitutes as “paper like” (it’s a lot more than just “low/no backlight”).

- Comment on Why do boomers hate squirrels so much? 2 months ago:
I’ve known this for a while, however I do not wish harm to grey squirrels. This is their war, I don’t even know the first thing about squirrel warfare, although I do hope the red squirrels find an alliance to support their freedoms.

- Comment on Super Mario Sunshine’s Biggest Mod Now Ready for Download 2 months ago:
These things being taken down is an eventuality no one can avoid, however if no one but Nintendo sees it, and takes it down, not many people will know about it.
By spreading these things when they are good it encourages a lot of things. It encourages backups, communities dedicated to preservation of files or at least discussion of them (through piracy of course, though still counts). Making more people aware of them also makes some talented individuals realise that they have the capability to get into these things themselves. Etc.I for one had no idea about this prior to this post, and Super Mario: Sunshine is one of my favourite games, so I’m excited to try this mod out later.

That shouldn’t be allowed. Someone tell it to go back to it’s usual orbit, this is not on.
- Comment on Why are weather apps so bad at telling you the current weather? 3 months ago:
I went to Amsterdam over the weekend. The weather apps said it was gonna rain, did it fuck. I brought my puffer jacket and was almost dying from the heat until I got to the hotel room. Never had to wear it during the trip.

Typical. Rules for thee I guess.
- Comment on Could President Biden fully legalize cannabis before he leaves office? 3 months ago:
That’s because Delta-9 THC, the compound we have always known as plain ol’ THC, begins as THC-A.
There are two forms of what is called ‘hemp’: industrial hemp, which has been bred for things like fibre, and the “legal classification that is hemp”.The legal classification varies depending on region, however it requires the plant to have a very low amount of THC (usually something around 0.2%).
The farm bill added various loopholes, which allowed for high THC-A and low THC samples to pass legally as hemp. Though it is still cannabis and always has been, the plant has just been tested long before the harvest and before the THC-A has had time to convert to THC.
Once the weed packs arrive at the shop, I guarantee to you that enough THC-A has converted to THC that it no longer would be classed as hemp. I love the hilarity of it all. - Comment on I'm just gonna stick to slotted, thanks 4 months ago:
Useful tip: with security torx sockets, with the little nub in the centre, if you get a small flathead screwdriver to jam in there and wiggle a bit, that centre bit will snap off without much difficulty.
You should be able to use a regular Torx screwdriver bit after that. - Comment on When was the last time you made Jello? 4 months ago:
Despite all that effort, he’s wrong as well. I’m born and raised in London, UK and we most certainly have differentiations. The description of preserves having elements of the real fruit is the same in the UK: I can go to the local supermarket right now and the shelf will have different sections for jams, preserves, and marmalades (which the person they were replying to were also correct in their description).
The thing I haven’t seen is American Jelly, as Jelly here is the same as Jell-O in the US. - Comment on Does anyone else feel like fireworks are a complete waste of money and a ridiculous amount of unnecessary Pollution? 4 months ago:
Personally I think it’s important to understand Co2 emissions aren’t the only factors in the pollution of air quality. Like you mentioned, heavy metals are a big factor in climate (for example how private jets still use leaded fuel).
- Comment on Does anyone else feel like fireworks are a complete waste of money and a ridiculous amount of unnecessary Pollution? 4 months ago:
I agree and have felt this way for a long time, and is why I have not taken part in firework displays nor been interested in them for years.
It just seems like an excuse to pollute the air on a massive scale, beyond other issues. I would much rather see drone shows today than fireworks.

I find this funny, since I used to hide drugs like mushrooms inside consoles. I figured it was the one place literally no one would think to look. Just unscrewed them, put a baggie inside in one of those empty spaces (there’s always a spot), and put the case back together.
- Comment on Elon Musk has another secret child with exec at his brain implant company 4 months ago:
Different people feel comfortable with different names. For a while, and still today, many people refer to it as High Functioning Autism however many people find offense in using that term for themselves.
At the end of the day it is an autism diagnosis, and simply saying Autism often works fine. Most of the time I say I have Autism as it makes things easier for others if I don’t go on long explanations. For what it’s worth I was diagnosed as having Asperger’s Syndrome many years ago (in 2004), however I personally find no offense in the term ‘high functioning autism’ though only because it fits my own self.
