Somewhere Tony Schiavone got the urge to yell "It's Sting!"
- Comment on Whats your favorite Main Menu music? 11 months ago:
Dearly Beloved and the variations on it are the best. I'm partial to the version for Kingdom Hearts 2 but they're all great
- Comment on Automakers must build cheaper, smaller EVs to spur adoption, report says 11 months ago:
Sorry, best we can do is massive, expensive pseudo-luxury SUVs
- Comment on I can barely tell the difference between 60 and 165 hz on my monitor 1 year ago:
Is it possible that there are ghosting issues with the panel? I had a 120hz monitor at work at one point that had ghosting issues so bad it made it look barely any better than a 60hz panel. Going from 60hz to 120+hz should definitely be noticeable to most people

I hadn't heard about it but yeah, the iOS and Android apps are open source.

I really hope this isn't a sign of things to come with other Automattic companies. I'd hate to see Pocket Casts go away.
- Comment on One thing the fandoms can agree on. 1 year ago:
I'd be happy if Rian Johnson got another chance with Star Wars. Brick, Brothers Bloom, Looper, and Knives Out were all great and at least personally The Last Jedi felt like it was trying to set up things to pay off in the next movie since he was originally slated to write and direct Episode 8 and 9.

I mean, fuck, there's no green bubble stigma in the US either. I have never once heard people complain about it in the real world

I feel like every company now is just trying to stick “AI” into things every way they can
They are. Investors are dumb as shit and throw money at whatever the current buzzword is. A couple years ago they were falling over themselves to invest in anything that mentioned "blockchain", now it's AI
- Comment on The Aristocrats! 1 year ago:
I don't know about BSD specifically but the current release is still Unix 03 compliant and it's still built on top of Darwin

Didn't Chevy discontinue the Bolt?
- Comment on 'This is only the beginning': Metal Gear Solid fans lose their minds as David Hayter returns to voice Solid Snake in a new teaser 1 year ago:
The MGS1-3 remasters are god awful (and somehow worse than the HD Collection a decade or so ago?)
Konami has been clear from the beginning that the Master Collection is mostly just the HD Collection but on modern systems. It was always referred to by them as a rerelease and not a remaster. I think the announcement of Metal Gear Delta: Snake Eater got people confused about the scope of the Master Collection.

There's only so many people who can afford to spend $60,000+ on a car
- Comment on Europe is looking to fight the flood of Chinese electric vehicles. But Europeans love them 1 year ago:
Honestly, I prefer not to have power seats. It's faster to adjust manual seats in my experience and there's both fewer things to break and less weight.
- Comment on Writers Strike isn't ending. It's doubling down. Who's fighting for representation and rights? That's right. Trek actors. 1 year ago:
I think you're confused, this is about the Screen Actors Guild which is a completely separate union from the Writers Guild of America. Both guilds went on strike but only the WGA has agreed to a deal with the AMPTP so far.

The RealTone cable works outside of the game too, I've used it to record bass in a DAW.
- Comment on The PlayStation 5 Slim is a Massive Rip-off 1 year ago:
I’m sure the crossover from nba2k, Skyrim, and cod is huge 🙄
It is though. There are a ton of people who mostly just play NBA 2K (and/or Madden), CoD, and one or two big AAA games like Cyberpunk.

Not OP but personally touch input feels much better implemented on 11 than any previous Windows
- Comment on Not even the ghost of obsolescence can coerce users onto Windows 11 1 year ago:
I still don't understand the TPM 2.0 requirement. As far as I know there's nothing that Windows 11 does by default that requires TPM, just optional features like BitLocker or Windows Hello
- Comment on USB inventor explains why the connector was not designed to be reversible 1 year ago:
I honestly think that FireWire 400 had a better physical design for the connector. It was keyed more dramatically than some of the other connectors people are citing as being both keyed and easy to orient incorrectly. I personally never had issues plugging in FireWire 400 blind.

I love that Suzuki keeps doing these non-traditional venue DDT shows. He seems to have a great sense of humor between these shows and his appearance on Hey! (EW).
- Comment on Japan: Bullet train passengers treated to wrestling match onboard, in world first 1 year ago:
DDT is no stranger to unusual venues for wrestling. They've done shows at water parks and on a baseball diamond among other places. [The championship lineage for their Ironman Heavymetalweight title]9https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ironman_Heavymetalweight_Champions) is a riot to read through as well, highlights include multiple different ladders winning the title, a title change that happened in a dream, and the entire audience of a show winning the title at one point

This happens ahead of every Apple product launch. No one ever covers it except Apple focused sites.
- Comment on iPhone 15 buyers will be reminded Lightning cables are now landfill 1 year ago:
I still hear people complain about the switch from 30-pin to Lightning. People who aren't into tech are extremely resistant to change
- Comment on Google gets its way, bakes a user-tracking ad platform directly into Chrome 1 year ago:
The WebKit engine Safari uses is still open-source, Gnome Web and Konqueror use it. It definitely has a small non-apple userbase but it's an option
