Speaking of spaceships…
Not the most practical PC engine model, because it lacked the extra oomph of the SuperGrafx and you couldn’t attach a CD-ROM² - but just look at it

PC Engine. Not only does it look like a prop from the set of TNG, but it is delightfully tiny. The cartridges are little cards that you slot in the front. There is literally nothing bad about a PC Engine. (Except for maybe that it’s only got one controller port)

Gonna be controversial and say Metroid Prime Hunters… mainly because that’s the one I’ve spent the most time with.
Zero Mission takes a close second, though.
- Comment on Why is Pokémon Emerald so grindy? 2 weeks ago:
I’ve been playing the Paper Mario TTYD remake on Switch. Out of curiosity, I watched a little gameplay from the GameCube original… and glory be, does it look snappy. They definitely padded out the animations and stuff in the remake.

Could it be that you had a lot more time on your hands, and perhaps fewer games to play, as a kid? I know that aligns with my experience. (Then again, having not played gen 3 myself, it might not be that deep)

When I did a legendary Combat Evolved solo run, there were one or two speedrunning strats I borrowed. Probably could do the same for H2 - one of the later levels, you can skip entirely if you do it right.

Halo 3 is a lot of fun, and it’s got some brilliant setpieces, but in terms of plot it’s always felt a bit of a rush job.
Even so, I love it to bits and it occupied many memorable evenings between 2008-2010. Definitely a much easier Legendary experience than Halo 2.

As a lifelong TS2 fan, even I would be hard pressed to pay what they’re charging.
- Comment on Are mods usually confusing as hell or am I just an idiot? 3 weeks ago:
This just reminds me of the mod situation for early versions of Minecraft. These day’s it’s as simple as pressing a button and dropping your mods into a folder, but back then it was a case of directly modifying the main Java file, removing specific bits, adding specific bits in specific places… not smooth at all

That was a big reason for me leaving my old job.
- Comment on Is Mario Kart Double Dash the best one? 1 month ago:
I just love the feeling of zipping around with the Mach Bike. In MK8, they’re not quite as responsive and don’t feel as good as the karts do, so it’s almost the opposite problem

I personally lean towards Wii. The feel of the inline bikes just hasn’t been matched. Super Circuit a close second for nostalgia reasons.
- Comment on BattleTanx series rereleasing on N64 | Retro Gaming News 24/7 3 months ago:
BattleTanx is extremely naff, but I always have a good time with it. I grew up with the PlayStation version, which runs ridiculously slowly; N64, on the other hand, feels a bit too fast!

Genuinely confused as to what the use case is for this. Do you put it in your own app / page? Is it for managing features across all your services? Is it just its own features??

If anyone wants a ‘quick’ solution, have a look at ClassicPress which was forked from WordPress a while ago.
NB: it does have a big friendly ‘migrate’ button which works pretty well (in the form of a WordPress plugin). However, expect some of your other plugins not to be compatible.
