And the fact that the status notification now has an area of roughly 4 pixels.
- Comment on Favourite controllers 6 days ago:
For general purpose, I’d say 8bitdo Ultimate C.
I am a huge fan of the GameCube pad and would use it for everything if I could.
For 2D games, particularly fighting games, I’m very fond of the Saturn pad.
However, if I had to pick a best controller ever, it’s got to be the SNES pad. No question.
- Comment on Patient gamers, what are your favourite city builders? 1 week ago:
Simutrans is quite interesting, although it’s probably closer to a Transport Tycoon than a SimCity. Otherwise I tend to go for SimCity 3000.
- Comment on Microsoft Closes Redfall Developer Arkane Austin, Hi-Fi Rush Developer Tango Gameworks, and More in Devastating Cuts at Bethesda 1 week ago:
Fuck corporations
is precisely what everyone’s been saying this whole time. Nobody’s blaming the devs. Your rant is misplaced.
- Comment on Microsoft Closes Redfall Developer Arkane Austin, Hi-Fi Rush Developer Tango Gameworks, and More in Devastating Cuts at Bethesda 1 week ago:
I agree with your statement. However, what I believe the original comment was saying is that if the developers who have lost their jobs were to get together and make a game as they describe, then they would buy it. The malice was directed at Microsoft and so on.
At least, that’s how I read it…

Guessing XCOM 2, judging by the font.

Could combine it with UK terminology and call it a foot
- Comment on Post your Servernames! 2 weeks ago:
I tend to use objects in space. My media server is called phobos, and my AzuraCast server is called dorado.
They’re a bit meaningless, though, so when I do my planned server upgrade this year I’m going to go with something different. My pfSense server was called sibyl, so perhaps something along those lines.

By that logic, nothing is reliable…? Because you could say that about literally anything
- Comment on Can an online library of classic video games ever be legal? 3 weeks ago:
Oh, for sure. Would be pretty good if there was an actual definition of what constitutes abandonware; say, if the game has been out of print for at least 2 years or whatever.
- Comment on Can an online library of classic video games ever be legal? 3 weeks ago:
Abandonware isn’t really legally defined

Depends which version you have - there is at least one official Win98 release that had a bootable CD.
- Comment on Discord began blocking servers with information prohibited in the Russian Federation 2 months ago:
Discord’s search is a joke. You search for specific words and you get a load of results that are… just not that word, at all
- Comment on Are people in the stock photos real? 2 months ago:
I’m not certain if it’s a full-time position, but I’m aware there are part-time model agencies that hand out odd jobs here and there. The ones I’ve come across were for clothing catalogues and so on, but I imagine they exist for stock photos too.

- Comment on Rooster Teeth Shut Down By Warner Bros. Discovery 2 months ago:
‘Previously On’ from Series 11 is worth a watch. And possibly the episode prior to it if you want context - but the main reason is just because it’s a load of stupid RvB humour and it’s brilliant.
- Comment on What are some good games with *zero* replayability? 2 months ago:
There’s a similar one called ‘One Chance’, in which you have three days to cure a disease that will otherwise kill everything. Same sorta concept.
- Comment on Affordable Android Excellence: Best Smartphones Under $200 in 2024 2 months ago:
…tempting! I enjoy the QWERTY keyboard phones as well. Wonder if they’ll bring back the fold-out keyboard that I lusted over back in 2011…
- Comment on Affordable Android Excellence: Best Smartphones Under $200 in 2024 2 months ago:
Still gigantic. The screen is a good inch-and-a-bit larger than the Nexus 4.
- Comment on Affordable Android Excellence: Best Smartphones Under $200 in 2024 2 months ago:
I just wish they were smaller. I’d love to have a Nexus 4-sized phone again.

- Comment on Mozilla CEO quits, org pivots, but what about Firefox? 3 months ago:
Firefox on Android can be configured with the address / tab bar at the bottom - possibly this is what they’re referring to, but that also doesn’t dynamically change per site as far as I’m aware.

Making a profit =/= running something for profit

Also Microsoft 365 subscriptions. A huge proportion of Windows licenses have always been from enterprise - they’ve never especially cared about the consumer
