“…there’s isn’t going to be a not-enshittified Norwegian Netflix opening up next year for you to subscribe to.”
Yes, but there could be. There’s no actual mechanism besides pure greed that leads to enshittification.
Imagine a service with a set price, no ads, never increases prices except to maintain operation in the face of inflation. Not beholden to shareholders, but rather to stakeholders.
Corporations have a legal obligation to make profit for their shareholders. However, being incorporated can also add legal protections for employees. So, we need such companies who are beholden once again to their stakeholders.

That’s like saying ‘my partner and I smoke, in the house, and we should both stop because it’s killing us and our family members who don’t smoke. Even though I have the ability to stop, or otherwise drastically reduce my smoking, which would be beneficial to everyone, I’m just going to continue because they won’t stop.’
Zero logic here.

Yeah, the US will definitely be balkenized. There at least two different types of peoples trying to live on the land, many more when Indigenous tribes are considered.
- Comment on Iran includes American tech giants on list of new targets 1 week ago:
Right! I agree with you!
So, DT can drop a nuke (or 3, to, you know, be the best), obliterate Iran, and no one bats an eye.
- Comment on Iran includes American tech giants on list of new targets 1 week ago:
If that happens (would make sense because bullies pick on the relatively defenseless), how would the world respond? What allies does Iran have who would dare nuke the US?

Man, they must LOVE people like him!
Surely, he must know he’s actively contributing to the issue. No?

What are ‘ads’? 🤷🏼
- Comment on Easy-to-use solar panels are coming, but utilities are trying to delay them 1 week ago:
In the US, reaching out to other countries for advice, even if they’re our allies, seems to be viewed as treason. At a minimum, seems like treason against “real” masculinity, on which American culture is fueled, especially now.
‘Why don’t you just stop to ask for directions?’

- Comment on NVIDIA could enter the desktop CPU market with performance equal to AMD and Intel 1 week ago:
Yeah, but, it’s Nvidia, the same company who’s a key figure on the AI-Govt circlejerk.
The absolute best thing we can do is boycott them AND OpenAI, because neither company gives a F about the People.
While Huang and Nvidia continue their current trajectory, I’ll never buy another Nvidia product.

Yeah, but if it falsely identifies the right people, is it really buggy?
